Of course, but mirroring disks decreases the chances data is lost through whatever freak accidents/damaged sectors/etc... thus backup. You could increase data redundancy by mirroring entire servers, too.

He doesn't mean backup of the OS/registry crap, he means a backup of data storage through mirroring drives. More or less unnecessary if going with SSD.

Woah thanks, didn't know that existed. Anything you had to do to get sound to work? Currently "plays" fine in foobar (spectrum visualization moves) but no sound, I'm thinking maybe it's not mapping correctly? Wishing a speedy recovery to MOTtyrion.

I'm using whatever drivers were in the EMU 0404 USB installation, and using the standard ASIO plugin in foobar2k.

Feel better Shelly and Mr. Shelly. At the risk of sounding like a complete goober, is there any way I can get the digital spdif out to stop randomly crapping out on my E-MU 0404 USB? Crapping out as in start outputting large noise/distortion over the music. I tried playing around with the buffer size already, but just in case, what should it be set to? Also, the 0404's control panel says the sample rate is locked in at 44.1kHz which is what I have it set to but the Parasound's 48kHz LED is lit. Wat dat mean
