  1. Probably Tyll and the new Headroom CEO having their first "difference of opinion".
  2. I take it that aside from the meet/trade show confusion, the gent in question must have been a bit of a tit to merit this treatment?
  3. ^^^ I like that album too. Very tongue in cheek. Pearl Jam -- Ten Looking forward to hearing the new remaster.
  4. Ryan Adams & The Cardinals -- Cold Roses
  5. The Duet runs fine off a FW800 port. You just need a 800 to 400 cable from Monoprice. Hook the Drobo up via USB.
  6. I've never paid much attention to netbooks, as I'm happy to just use my iPhone for light browsing etc. away from the desktop at home or on the road. But you guys are making me want one. Bigger screen plus physical keys plus 802.11n would be nice, if not arguably necessary. Any thoughts on this guy's take on the options? Maybe I should just wait for the fabled Mac Web tablet. Of course that'll probably be $1,000.
  7. Probably dirty power. Invest in new cord.
  8. This is a one-trick pony, but nice if you like that particular trick. The streams are AAC+ and sound pretty good. Radio Paradise
  9. For a second, I thought I'd wandered back into the buggery thread.
  10. You are right. I thought they had the Harpertowns. Edit: What am I missing?
  11. Which had two quad core processors, versus just one in the new cheaper base model.
  12. OK, fuck me the new Pros are even more expensive!
  13. That's the pisser with the new iMacs, too, which now have only a single FW800 port. On my current one, I can run the Duet off the 400 and external drives off the 800 with no problems at all. OT, but fuck me the new Pros are expensive!
  14. Nice spec bumps and, to the delight of Duet fans everywhere, they kept Firewire. The addition of a discrete graphics card should now make this a decent video, as well as audio, server.
  15. Had more fun with circadian rhythms. Kids were up at 4:15 a.m. Feels like I have a cold coming on, too. School better not be out again today.
  16. Slowly shepherded the kids back onto local time. Attempted to locate our baggage, which hung up at JFK yesterday while we cabbed across town and sneaked home on the shuttle from La Guardia. Thank goodness the wife's a first-tier carbon criminal and Platinum on just about every domestic carrier.
