Did the previous Desktop series run hot?
The only problem I see is that if I got one of these I'd probably want to pop for the DPS, too, and that strikes me as pretty steep at $500.
Hope your dog is OK, Ian! I had no idea. My mutt often cleans up the kids' breakfast oatmeal leftovers. Luckily they've been picking out most of the raisins, I guess.
This definitely puts the whole Audiophile Desktop arrangement back on my ever-growing wishlist. Wonder how the Ultra amp would drive a pair of balanced HD800s?
That's a side surround. He clearly has five of them and is enjoying a multichannel SACD recording. Also, the other identical twin blonde is out of shot limbering up in the "rumpus room."
Should have my BD-83 this week as it's in FedEx's hands right now. Not 100% sure, but think they did add DVD-A support in firmware for this first batch, which is nice.
Right. And I don't see too much of a problem with limiting USB input to 44.1/16 anyway. How many folks, even among our enthusiast/early-adopter population, are actually using computer sources for playback of high-rez recordings?
Yep. That's pretty much the only thing that kept me from getting the previous Balanced Desktop amp. Will be interested to hear what else has changed to make it "Ultra".
