Not that that isn't occasionally inconvenient for the parent. "Daddy, why does that lady have such big breasts?" That's what you get for teaching them the correct terminology.

NorCal 8/8/2009 Meet Impressions
I emailed Craig about this when I heard about it a little while ago. He said it'll be called the ECPP and will be a two-stage passive pre using three 12AX7 tubes. Cinemag trafos for MC and selectable loading for MM. Final version will apparently have a separate tube-rectified power supply. Sounds like it'll be priced toward the top of that range -- which will still likely be a stone bargain for what you're getting.

Passive volume control
Build quality is very good as far as I can see. Packing was excellent. I thought the price was pretty decent, too, given that the raw parts total is close to 85% of the assembled cost. They make a bunch of them in different configurations that folks might find useful. See here.

If we can ignore the regrettable upholstery, this would probably make an excellent Chalkmobile. Gemballa Mirage GT "Matte Edition".

Thomas Dolby -- The Flat Earth (Collector's Edition) Sounds much, much better than the original CD.

Passive volume control
Well, I originally bought the NHT PVC Pro but it didn't work for me as it wouldn't attenuate all the way down in the the right channel. So it went back for a refund and one of these arrived today. It appears to do the job well and gives me the flexibility of a second input for the speakers -- just in case something like, say, an analog source were to show up one of these days.
