  1. Sorry Nate, still not clear on this. Is there a new Max DAC on the way as well as the new Sabre-based Ultra DAC?
  2. Supergrass -- In It For The Money
  3. I hadn't come across this until today and, albeit well above my price point, it looks pretty close to the single-box, hi-resolution solution of my computer audio dreams. 32-bit DACs; USB, optical and coax digital ins; native DSD, DSD-to-PCM, PCM-to-DSD; 32-bit digital volume control. Here's the marketing fluff. Let's hope this starts a trend!
  4. Thought the Ultra was basically the old Max and the point at which the new line will top out?
  5. Speaking of 15" Tannoy drivers, what do you think of these custom horns?
  6. Went to the diner for pancakes, then the farm down the road so the wife could buy flowers for the window boxes and the kids could feed the ducks. Now tasked with getting the patio furniture out of the shed and changing out the windows for screens on the back porch. Sun, sun, sun, here it comes.
  7. Its the tits with Blu-rays and DVDs. Great picture, great sound (I'm bitstreaming to an Integra 9.8 pre-pro), fast and very stable so far for me. The wife said she had a snag with the menus on "The Notebook" the other day, but that could easily just have been her. Seems from the AVS thread there have been some gripes about lip-synch and HDCD decoding, but neither have affected me. I definitely prefer the OPPO over the PS3 as a player -- which is a pretty decent compliment.
  8. LiveLeak.com - DUI Stop So close!
  9. Various Artists -- Reggae Classics: From The Golden Age Of Reggae [DCC; Hoffman]
  10. Can't wait to hear what you think. Have had my eye on the Weiss stuff for a long time as I have an odd attachment to FireWire interfaces.
  11. Yes you do.
  12. Just glad we can't see the saber.
  13. Not as such.
  14. Hope it doesn't rain on you, Nate. Looks a bit dark out here in the burbs.
  15. Suede -- Sci-Fi Lullabies Britpop will eat itself. Bonus points if you can identify the plane.
  16. I knew you seemed more civilized than your average left coaster.
  17. It started raining around 3:30 p.m. here, so I told the kids they could watch "Horton Hears A Who", which was their Netflix pick this month. To which magnanimous offer the four-year-old casually responds: "DVD or Blu-ray?"
  18. Mrs. Wilson is hot.
  19. Looks like fan access is pretty simple, so it probably wouldn't be hard to find out. Or to sub in a super-quiet replacement of choice.
  20. Blur -- 13 Brings back some really good memories of London in the summer of 1999. I think it still stands up well, but that assessment may well be somewhat clouded by nostalgia.
  21. Not cheap, but looks quite nice as a pure storage solution. I have a couple of their single external enclosures and they've been very reliable. I wonder if they'd sell it unbundled if one asked very, very politely?
  22. The ice cream truck drove by the house for the first time this Spring. Great excitement!
