I have the original Aerial 8s as mains. They're great but really, really power hungry. One of these days I hope to get them hooked up to a 500W D-Sonic or Wyred amp. Or maybe two of the big Emotiva monos. Mmm.
Fair enough. Just thought I might be missing something good.
I have a CC3 in my HT too and recently -- to my chagrin -- had to pass on a CC5 and Sound Anchor stand for pickup just a few miles down the road from me. If only my kids didn't have to eat!
GS-1 got himself a little buddy.
The SR-003 are a slightly strange sensation on the head and I'm still playing around with the fit, but they certainly sound good. I was expecting the bass to be much less punchy than it actually is!
We had to wear boaters as part of the uniform at my prep school. These were known as "bashers", presumably because the first thing the seniors would do when you got there as a new boy was punch a fist through the crown.
I think a pork pie would be a little less jolly-hockey-sticks.
Put my HT speakers (Aerial Model 8s) up on some Sound Anchor stands I managed to find locally. Reran Audyssey a few times while futzing with the subwoofer gain. Enjoyed the placebo effect for a while.
Sorry, I just meant the 9.8 doesn't do very well as a pure pre-amp with analog inputs and pass-through. But used as you describe it's very creditable. Particularly taking DSD straight from the OPPO.
