  1. Well, I kind of thought this thing was supposed to be able to be a replacement for a netbook. An option to use a normal USB keyboard and access removable storage without a server would be nice to me, maybe import pictures from the camera directly. Unless devices are a computer or have wireless support, they won't communicate with this by default. Its definitely not going to serve as a digital front end which I thought would be nice.
  2. I don't use AT&T, but I have heard bad things about its 3G service and data plans. What does unlimited actually mean to AT&T? This seems like a great deal for laptops at this price if you could work that out.
  3. The deal breaker for certain for me will be whether it can host external devices (hard drives, keyboards, monitors, etc.).
  4. Ooo!

The TPA Buffalo DACuses the 9018 chip and the BDP-83SE uses the 9016 which is said to be its slightly lower performance brother I believe as well.

I was thinking of maybe upgrading the Buffalo24 to the new version of the Buffalo32 coming out with the volumite to get an upgrade in sound quality and solve the preamp problem.

How is the CDP-2 with the 12L-A? It may be what I need, as I have thinking I may need a preamp, though the variable outputs don't sound appealing from the descriptions give here. Any other recommendations?
  8. Sinuses killing me here too, listening to the liquid behind my ear drums and chest cold nastiness at night trying to sleep. Went to court this morning for two hours and now must pay court fees plus a $225 fee for substance abuse classes for possession of an open container (leftover incident from Halloween). Nothing going on my record if things go as planned. Bleh, but not horrible.
  9. They were with the SRM-T1 as well.
  10. Great impressions Steve, I'm also stoked to hear the comparison of the exStata's performance with the mk1.
  11. Nice, I would love to have those for my class, they were great when I was in college.

Planet Earth BBC Edition (better version in my opinion) in Blu-Ray + a $5 gift card $29.99 from the discovery store. The Blu-Ray is $24.99 by itself. You can add in the gift card or some of the other cheap filler items to bring it over $25 and get free shipping. Maybe someone could post up their gift card to help out others on the deal (IE, they could use the gift card you purchased to buy a $5 gift card and get free shipping and then give you their $5 gift card they received to make it even). I have this on Blu-Ray and consider it a must-have. Planet Earth Blu-ray + $5 Gift Card $29 - SlickDeals.net Forums
  13. When I do visit head-case in public/work, I do have firefox running off of pen drive with a minimize to taskbar feature, helps.
  14. I definitely don't leave head-case up at work. Today is a work day, so no worries.
  15. Indeed! Though maybe a mod should change the fucking title though so it is a little more work appropriate like the f**king snow thread?

  19. Went to bed around 1 am after gargling hot salt water to help my throat. Woke up this morning still sick, went back to sleep. Got up after 10:30 to have a snack, some fluids, and check head-case and head-fi. Head-case was down so I watched last nights tonight show. Went back to sleep shortly after noon until about 3:30. Ate and checked out the new head-case layout. I think I'm starting to feel a bit better.
  20. I'm sure you don't mind them all the same color either.
  21. Its pissing me off a bit too. I tried in Firefox posting this reply with torpedo's quote twice already and somehow miserably failed. Being sick right now, all this white space is adding a bit to the confusion as its somehow making it more disorienting and difficult to follow the tone of the thread for me. I have a 28" monitor on 1400x1050 and it only displays three short posts at once. On my 15" monitor, its just too much of a PITA to try to read.
  22. He did enjoy that liver, your probably right. I believe it was this scene that reminded me of Lector and brains.
  23. They have an uncontrollable urge to bite and eat any living thing, but brains are the delicacy. They probably enjoy it much in the way Hannibal Lector seemed to have preferred it or the way that Monkey has urges for DACs, but pays more attention to the chipsies sometimes. I think brains are just that much more gourmet, like their personal lobster smothered in their own kind of butter. I'm probably going to find a way to ease into being a Zombie with the time comes.
  24. Could you not use the design files and a professional service to make a finished product without the prototyping process and also with none of the flaws of the prototype for cheaper? I don't think the prototyping material would make for a very quality mold either. I wouldn't want to pay to make a mold to make only a few cases, as usually the mold will cost more I would think to produce.
  25. I've used a couple of 3-D printers back at the university, last time about two years ago, and only one was good enough to use for anything that I would think of as being a finished product on certain things. From what little I know, that one in particular was most definitely not cheap.
