Video Transcoding Help - mkv to avi to DVD?
manaox2 replied to n_maher's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
I've also been ripping a ton of BR. To me, its a lot easier I think then taking an MKV and transcoding it for DVD on a PC it seems (I'm a fan of just taking direct stream rips and only encoding the audio). I'm also interested in good ways to do this, AVI2DVD seems like a good choice. http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_mkv_to_dvd_with_freeware.cfm -
Damn it. One more thing to see if I can find money under a rock for. A maybe for now.

I can't imagine having a raccoon as a pet. I am still wary of approaching raccoons after I had a random incident once as a kid after I went to sleep once during that summer after leaving gold tin wrap in front of my open window. My dad had a camouflage RC car in the attic with a built-in tape recording of an injured rabbit that randomly started playing evidentally (I had no idea he had such a sick contraption). So that night I woke up to an open window and the sounds of rustling tin and screaming dying rabbit. After waking to that, I immediately thought about how raccoons liked shiny objects, were nocturnal and did not like being cornered, which did not make me happy about being in that room at that moment. Long story short, I eventually ended up making a break for the door and then returned with golf clubs to find nothing there. Raccoon or no raccoon that time, I can't imagine approaching a large raccoon still. So I guess what I meant to say was welcome, Chris, to head-case. I probably won't be visiting.

Hope you had a great birthday Smeg, ignore Brent (as usual).

Happy belated Al, sounds like it was a good one.

I worked, had to deal with kids gone wild, then came home to remux some blu-ray rips to play with my new TV. Now drinking and watching the second season of Big Love. TGIF.

Sounds about right. I miss the Qualia after Florida, don't tell my O2.

I don't know if they are halfway decent or not without hearing I guess, but they have a 20db boosted bass it seems and looks like it really rolls off the highs on the frequency chart from a quick google search.

Best wishes on a safe journey and a pleasant return! Hope you can stay cool under the heat.

Ugh, sorry to hear about all the unfriendly events there Dinny. Tick bites give me the creeps. Good to hear it didn't affect anything more vital and will be treated though. That cholestoral news is teh suck, but I guess on the bright side its better recognizing it before a heart attack or stroke happily.

Happy belated birthday, hope all of your wishes were found!

Wow, that is big news! congrats! Ugh, and a big get well soon to those with all those with the doctor's visits and sickness. I've also had a rough cold this week with on and off fevers and loss of appetite, yesterday especially was not fun.

It would be nice if people would post their true opinions on DIY builds if they differ, its been all so positive that I think its a little bewildering based on the technical specs compared to some of these amps (especially the KGSS which I've also yet to hear). I admit the fandom would likely be a bit intimidating if I had impressions ready ATM, perhaps more so then RSA with how tight and partially behind the scenes the DIY community is already. It certainly stings being led into hype.

Best wishes to you on your most special of days, the day you were reborn.

My first rig outside of the portable CD players and various $5-$20 headphones bought at small town Walmarts or drug stores before head-fi was the iPod shuffle 1gb 1st gen or Echo Indigo IO and UE Super.fi 5 pro. My first rig after head-fi was an iMod, ALO super cotton imod dock, Corda Move, and Triple.fi 10 pro. Here are some pictures I have from recently after hitting the abyss that is the head-fi portable forums: It was the LISA III and graduating from college that thankfully helped me eschew the transportable toys.

Whoever would taken on such an endeavor seems likely to need a legal slush fund which may prove as costly as anything else.

Just to let anyone who cares know, this was leaked online a few days ago. (No, I haven't listened to it. Yet.)

I attended the Epica show at Volume 11 last Saturday, ashamedly my first metal show and a long one with 5 bands over five hours. Drinks were decently priced and they had microwavable food and snacks inside (awesome). By the time Epica came on, the temp difference and the tin roof created perspiration that created a rain like effect which in my eyes actually increased the epicness. I'm not sure Epica found it amusing, Simone had a fat drop land right on her forehead. Some moshing and the crowd was pumped, overall it was a great experience. Me too. I really want to play with this.

You should just webserve your entire root drive. Then it would work. Hint: screen shot or something and use imageshack.us

None today, though I still have a lot of blu-ray OTW. My collection has grown a lot recently. I live in the dark so, glossy is fine by me, especially at $817 shipped from Frys.
