Could you not use the design files and a professional service to make a finished product without the prototyping process and also with none of the flaws of the prototype for cheaper? I don't think the prototyping material would make for a very quality mold either. I wouldn't want to pay to make a mold to make only a few cases, as usually the mold will cost more I would think to produce.
I've used a couple of 3-D printers back at the university, last time about two years ago, and only one was good enough to use for anything that I would think of as being a finished product on certain things. From what little I know, that one in particular was most definitely not cheap.
Intensely checking that data would take a weekend anyway I would think. I have used a nice program called HDD Regenerator to check and regenerate any bad sectors it found to recover bad disks before. Maybe check for fragmentation?
I like Conan much more then Jay, but I'm not seeing a huge reason for the animosity towards Jay for agreeing to keep his job and staff, unless there is some evidence that he had a real push behind the move of the tonight show. NBC is the obvious culprit.
Conan will be fine, no doubt.
Yeah, a few of us got his 45 min. spill at the Charlotte Canfest last year. He said a lot of stuff that sounded like fantastic claims. I'm not sure what to think about that thing. Thats on a whole new level then what he was telling us though.
I don't believe Thrice of RH Audio is taking custom orders any longer. Post a WTB on head-fi instead maybe.
For an O2 and/or SRM-717, check out Kuboten, head-fi FS threads, ebay, and audiogon. I'm a dick for keeping silent about the one for auction on ebay europe right now I guess.
I don't think he would have recommended it if he didn't think you probably knew better (ok, maybe he would). Don't be too upset (don't really think you are, but...), its still a better suggestion then most would have gotten on head-fi by far. Audio-gd this, Meier that.
1. Google Stax O2 and Stax SRM-717.
2. Singlepower may burn your house down and good luck finding one.
3. Learn to use the edit function.
My gut feeling is to look into other phones for the money. D7000 isn't going to become different enough in a nice price range like that to give you a great cost to benefit ratio IMO.
I read on head-fi where JH stated in the release that they tweaked the JH16 to make the JH16 Pro after engineers supposedly said the market could use the bass increase. So, it seems that by building on the JH13 signature and the JH16, these are supposed to have crossover improvements to make the pro version.
I'm also not interested in either still, but will watch the price of the JH13 especially knowing the JH Audio with do reshelling for $75 from what I hear (which UE would not do originally for any price).
