  1. Well the part I thought was awesome was the stories about the First lady saving the Lincoln portrait minutes before the British burned it down. The personal touches from each president etc that made the place their own and showed their humanity.
  2. I very seriously doubt that the license for the circuit design software you use says that you are allowed to use it in the spare time etc for other things. Sorry but it's not all legal. It's very unlikely that they would ever go after you. Ray's guy on the government contract is absolutely without a doubt breaking both the software license as well as his contract with the government.
  3. Marriage of Figaro at the National Opera. Went and saw it last week. Great performance in my opinion.
  4. Went on a Whitehouse tour. That was awesome. I'm not a citizen (yet) but that kind of stuff really makes you love your country more.
  5. Happy birthday!
  6. spent the morning trying to update the maps in our GPS in preparation for our trip out to California. Can't wait to drive around the bay area chasing a bike race.
  7. Indeed it is good shit. What he said. I've had it for a long time and it does the trick for me especially when traveling. Though I am intrigued by the new Cowon player that is supposed to have great audio.
  8. Picked up my Pico slim. I finally have a real portable rig for my ER4-S
  9. x2. People just don't get it.
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. bad times... Me: misc bike shit.
  12. I think the name is retarded and the asthetic is not my thing. Please don't hurt me. That said I was really really impressed with the 307a and I'm sure this thing sounds amazing. It better at that price though.
  13. I honestly have no idea but I'm really glad I did.
  14. Watched my wife do a half ironman. She's fucking impressive. I did a single lap of the bike course as a warm up for a time trial tomorrow. WTG boo.
  15. I can entirely believe that there is very little sonic difference but I'm happy with my setup as it is and the gamma2 has more stuff to play with etc (filters etc). I have been looking for a easily transportable setup that can do optical in (I am currently using USB) and the gamma2 fits that bill. Now all I need is some really short RCAs to connect the two
  16. I'm really rather stoked. It really sounds amazing. I still wonder about the JH13 but gamma2+AE2+ER-4s is a system that I could be happy with for good. Once it arrives for portable I will strap the slim to my Creative Zen and use it with the ER4S as well. Only bummer is the LOD for the creative and the P->S converter for the ER4s but it will be fine. I was thinking of getting a Zune HD but I'm going to wait and see for a while.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. Hooked up my new gamma2 and 32GB memory stick to my computer and now I have lossless music and a cool dac at work As far as work goes the rest of it is a total CF.
  19. Well I checked and it outputs up to 1A so that's covered but as you say there is no real way to know it's acceptably regulated. I assume that to work with USB devices it has to meet some voltage range specification much like the USB ports out of the computer, therefore I figure it should be ok.... ? Edit: Looking at the gamma1 website it looks like there are voltage regulators on the USB port anyway so now I'm really not worried about that. It looks like it needs to be regulated if I want to use the power plug.
  20. 32GB memory stick and USB port extender so I can go back to being computer based for my audio listening at work. Should fit quite a bit of music on it and I don't have to worry about breaking hard drives.
  21. Well I guess it's decided that I'll get the brick and reterminate it but I'm going to hold off on ordering until after I'm really sure that the USB power thing I have doesn't do the trick.
  22. that was my first thought but I've had no real luck finding one. According to the builder the usual ones are rather noisy.
  23. Thanks for the recommendation. That looks good. Then I buy the correct connector? AMB recommends: CONN POWER PLUG 3.5MM X 1.3MM - PP3-002D Damn this is a bit of a PITA
  24. Hi guys and gals, I bought a gamma2 and I'd like to plug in to the wall and use the trasit to send it data across toslink to avoid ground loop issues. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what to buy for a 5v 300mA supply to use with it. Sorry for the dumb question but I'm having no luck finding one and I'm obviously looking in the wrong place.
  25. Quarq Cinqo bicycle power meter and SRAM 52/36t chainrings to go on it. There goes $1800 but now I'll be able to trust my power numbers Otherwise I bought return shipping on my Gamma2 so that it can have a switch switched out to make it look perfect. I didn't listen to it before I did this so that I would not miss it
