Awesome news Justin. I hope that the bone is joining well etc and you're back up to full speed soon.

Happy Birthday Mikeymad and Dreadhead
Thanks for the well wishes. Hard day in our house hold because it is also the 2 year anniversary of Meaghan's mom's passing away. On top of that Meaghan had to leave for 6 days to come back for 1 then leave for another 4. Yay. Oh and I am still too sick to go out riding.

Microsoft Surface Pro WTF
For people who have not bought yet: the new Dell Venue Pro 11 also looks like a good option. Both it and the Sony are similar.

Super Typhoon Haiyan
Yeah it is incredible. I read somewhere that region had an earthquake last week too. Talk about a bad couple weeks.

Seems like the outcomes are statistically identical: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3291769/ I would pick one and do it ASAP.

Yeah that was my point that the guys with the careers riding on getting it fixed as fast as possible pick plates.

Justin, I'm with Al that you should get it fixed ASAP. Seems like the plate is the standard practice in the peloton and has really good success: http://velonews.competitor.com/2011/07/news/training-center-what-cyclists-should-do-when-they-break-their-collarbone_186486 http://www.shoulderdoc.co.uk/article.asp?article=1614 I'd personally go with what works not some new fancy thing. I'm still fighing a cold from last week but I'm trying to decide what I'm doing with regards to going for a ride on Friday for my birthday as I'm likely not going to be able to get out on my birthday itself. Thinking about doing this: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3634000 The other option is to take the day off and ride from home, though it's not as pretty or hilly as around my work. Edit: I pick staying home on Friday. Should be fun.

I love mine too. I don't mind the wait for boot though I would prefer some instant feedback that it was waking up like a vibration or light. I tend to go through a moment of panic that it is not waking.

We have a neighbor who babysits for us regularly and is actually watching them on Friday night so we can go out for my birthday but she's in school and doing homework every weeknight.

Awesome! I'm trying to decide if I should take a day (or half day) off on Friday and go for a long ride because I will not be getting in rides for a few weeks due to being a single parent. The biggest bummer is that my wife has to head to trial on my birthday so I will not even get out then.
-
And now what did you do TODAY?
I did single parenting last week Monday and Friday and a few weeks back when it was a federal holiday and Meaghan's work was open. I totally agree you just have give in to the fact that it will be manic. I could not do my current job and be a single parent because of the restrictions of what a "regular" hour is so I can't make time up in the evenings. I'm going to be in the interesting position of using leave during the day to pick the kids up on time and then earning overtime. Should be "interesting" but manageable.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Nice Jim and Brent. Unless something changes I am a single parent of a 2 year old and 5 month old for 8 days starting this coming Sunday (with a 2 day break for the weekend where Meaghan will return from trial in NYC). I'm sure it will be very overwhelming but I'm sure it'll be fun too. The 11th is a holiday so I have them all day then too.

And now what did you do TODAY?
Uploaded 2 years worth of rides to Garmin Connect from Garmin Training center which involves taking 150mb of data and somehow making it gigabytes worth of TCX files... I still have 2 more years to do but I've done enough mindless clicking for one day.

Ouch that sucks big time Justin. I enjoyed my ride with Jeff today but I feel bad I dragged him into a construction zone in Maryland. I will not be doing that route again for a year or so it looks like with the amount of construction it looked like they had planned.

New Puppy
I rarely brush my dogs teeth but I do use a chisel like dental tool I ordered for $20 on Amazon to remove his plaque every once and a while. He's a good sport about it and since cleanings are several hundred bucks around here it has probably saved us 2 grand at this point.

Shelly the Galaxy S4 mini may compete in that space. That said I get what you are saying. I wish my phone was smaller.

Went to the National Zoo and had a blast. We also joined FONZ and will be doing that more often.
