I may give that case a try. The angle looks steeper than the Apple case. It looks like it would be a bit more awkward for typing.

We all could have waited but that is not in our nature. I agree about the camera but none of us should be surprised that there were features left out as that is how Apple operates. Fortunately, Apple products hold their value.

Dinny, agreed. His initial criticisms were petty at best. The weight, issue, I kind of get that. The idea that anyone that thinks this is a game changer, is a tool. I think one day, he will look back on that and call himself an asshole for writing it. I haven't touched my macbook since the iPad arrived, other than at the office. Other than no chat, it was replaced my macbook for everything other then work.

Gene, cover the pad. It was not meant to experience life to the fullest. If it was, java would work and I could chat on HC with the pad.

I highly recommend the Apple case. The ability to prop it up on a angle makes it easier to use in many situations, in particular when sitting at a desk or table. It's pretty sleek as well but you do sacrifice some protection compared to the Belkin sleeve I also bought. I don't think there is a high risk of dropping it so I'm willing to go with less protection for greater convenience.

I am typing this post using the case set up as a stand and it works fine. Not tipping, it's pretty firm

Picked up the Apple iPad case at the Apple Store. It's not bad. It's thinner than I expected and offers less impact protection but I like the form factor. I also picked up an incase sleeve Plus to try out. It offers more protection while in the case and none out of the case. I'm leaning towards keeping the Apple case. It would have been nice if they had shipped the cases at the same time as the iPad's but I guess they thought it was more important to have them in the store for launch day.

That could work, when you come by to set that up for me? I may give that a try tonight and see if I can figure it out.

Thanks all. My cable modem and router are integrated. The router is only a b/g. I think I should get a new modem and then use an n router with it. Hopefully, this will be enough. I have an n router that I can use with the cable modem. I then can add the Airport Express if I still need to extend the signal.

What should I use to improve my wifi signal in the house and outside (backyard)? I am using a cable modem/router.

I use the app all the time. Is anyone having wifi issues? Mine seems to be pretty fast most of the time and other times seems to get hung up. While the signal out back has never been strong, it see s to weaker with the iPad.

I think it's about right for me. My biggest gripe is the inability to chat on HC.

Just my iPhone. There is no jailbreak for the iPad yet. Dinny, the only way to tether with the iPad is for the iPad to think the other device is a wifi connection. With my MacBook I can do a USB tether or Bluetooth tether.

Not with the iPhone. That is not to say there aren't glitches every so often but nothing that is a big deal. If your iPhone has been upgraded to the latest software then jail breaking is not an option at this time. Once your warranty is up there are no issues. Jail breaking is completely reversible with a restore. Being able to run apps in the background is a big deal for me. I would love that option with the iPad.

Listen to Al. You wouldn't want to lower yourself to my level. Pay the $130 and $20/ month foe the 3G for those very few timews you will need it Really.

Gene, I am able to tether the iPad with my iPhone.

I am happy to report that I am typing from my 3G iPad.

So this Is how my day has gone. By 1 pm no iPad. By 2 pm I got one of the worst migraines vie had in a while. At 4:45 the iPad arrives but the migraine didn't leave until now. I am happy to say that I am typing this post from my iPad. This thing is f'ing cool.

I considered it but I am adult that on occasion acts like a child, not a child that occasionally acts as an adult. It's only a computing device, which I already have so, I will be patient. I can't believe my son turned dow $25 to go to the Apple Store for me so I wouldn't miss delivery. Like some how going to the beach on a warm sunny day in Fort Lauderdale is better than helping dad. Kids.

So far, I've watched the Fedex truck and USPS truck go by and a Broward Sheriff's Office helicopter circle in the vicinity of my house for an hour. While I know it will be here, if I knew that there was one I could buy at the Apple Store, I would be on my way.
