They are not cheap but they sound good. If I was buying a pair of monitors for my office I would pick up a pair of System-Audio SA505 ($599 retail) which can be found from time to time on Audiogon for $300. Neither these or the Amphions are powered speakers. They both require an amp.

I'm using my Pico with er-6i which are 16 ohm and the volume starts around 9 but I get a nice range from soft to loud. I don't find it to be a detriment in the least. I'm using it at the moment as a usb dac from my mac mini using the mini to rca out of the headphone out. I have the Pico volume maxed out, going into my integrated and K1000 out of the speaker taps. This thing is great. I use it in the office with a Cambridge Soundworks Model 12 the same way and it sounds great.

I was in the same boat. I ordered mine when HF went down and Justin wasn't sure if he would be able to get in touch with those that ordered so I figured, why not. After I ordered I tried to figure out what to use it for. I plan on trying it out as a dac for my office rig using a mini to RCA from the headphone jack into my office integrated out to speakers.

Me four! Mine arrived today. I'm listening to it now for the first time out of my notebook listening the the Grateful Dead channel on Sirius Satellite Radio. I get the premium stream but it's still pretty compressed. It sounds great with the Pico. I'm using my er-6i's. Tomorrow night I will throw it in the big rig.

Depending on the law of your state, you may be cancelling out your vote by sending out an absentee ballot and going to the polls and voting. I was an attoney poll watcher in '04 and '06 for the Democratic party so they made me learn voting laws so when the Republicans would challenge voters we could explain why the were wrong. Ron Paul scares me as much as the other Republicans. The Democrats just scare me a little less. We need a third party and public financing of campaigns. It's time to get the corporations out of politics.

What I meant was that when you max the volume on the Transporter (not in slimserver) it goes to the highest number (do not remember what number) then it goes to 0. When it's on 0, your headphone amp or preamp controls the volume. There is no sound unless you increase the volume on your amp/preamp. It's as if the volume control on the Transporter is disabled. The SB3 does not disable the volume when you max it out. This is all by recollection so perhaps someone with a Transporte (Aason) can determine whether my feeble 47 your old mind is still working.

When you download the software there is a volume control that lets you set it at 0. On the Transporter when you max out volume it goes to 0. The SB3 does not. So I am assuming that the volume control has been disabled at this setting.

I don't care what the opinion is one way or another. My gripe isn't about that. It's about expressing and opinion about something without hearing it, seeing it, opening it, etc. If, like KG, you can do that without the above based upon your knowledge and expertise, fine but to just say something is a POS, is wrong.

Just coming into a thread and posting something is a POS without having seen the amp, heard the amp, looked inside the amp. And having done none of the above, not state the basis for your opinion. KG expressed an opinion about the amp and stated his basis for the opinion.

Like I said, some people would call what you are doing a troll. WTF made you the guardian of what is and isn't junk. If you have an opinion, say it, but back it up with fact or a basis so you don't come off as a troll.

I wll only say this about the Super Hemps and that is they go deeper than the other single driver speakers I've heard.
