Never had the Bailey, but if I did, I would have sold it to you.
One of these days when I am on my way back from one of my day trips up the coast, I will try to stop by to check it out.
Victor Wooten - Live in America - Disc 2 -Miller Time
Super Bass
Ray Brown - Live at the Loa
Christian McBride - Live at the Tonic
Vicki, take a pic of your set up when you get a chance. I bet the Abby's with the Bailey sound great. I feel bad that I wasn't the one to sell you the Bailey.
Gene who? I will send him an email to see what's up. He was missing in action before the big crash. I will start working on my wife for time off. I'm camping at Langerado for 4 days in the beginning of March so it will take some work.
He tells people, some of us just choose to ignore it.
Jp, Happy Birthday! I hope you took the day off to listen to some music and drink a nice IPA or Belgian. Or better yet, run to the Analog Room and buy yourself a new tt.
Not that dollar cost automatically equates to better sound but you need to compare the costs of our systems compared to Al's. I would venture a guess that it is more than double.
My visit may be sooner than you think. I have a Southwest ticket I have to use by the beginning of February. I'll keep you guys posted. Your rig looks great!
jp, I mentioned to Oz about the serac and he told me he knows Thom from his phonogram group. You probably know the history but Thom and another guy each left Teres and started their own businesses.
I was not as underwhelmed by the Scout as jp was but there was no question that the Linn and Sota trounced it. All this tt talk is doing it to me again. Just when I thought I was out you drag me back in. I will probably audition a couple of the Acoustic Solid tt from Oz and then check out the Nottingham stuff at Hollywood Sound towards the end of the year.
It was fun being a nobody. I think I became a mod after the '05 National so if we go back to '06, I think I'm still in and continue as a boring somebody.
What will I do? I haven't been able to read everything yet.
Justin, hopefully you will find everyone or they will find you. You can add me to the list. Other than color I don't remember the choices. I'll take a black one.
I was able to print many of the pages from the CanJam thread. I have to hit the road for the next few hours to a deposition so I won't be able to check anything cached until tonight.
I've used RS-1, HP-2 and PS-1 out of the WA5 and they sound great. I am hoping that jp11801 sells his vintage RS-1s one of these days. I haven't heard the WA4, so I can't help. Contact Jack and see if you can drop by and try out both amps. Have you tried the WA6 with Grados? Didn't Jack have all his amps at the meet last weekend?
Jp told me he mentioned the Bailey to you. I hope you get it. I just added a sub and it's made a big difference with the CompactHemps.
Hey Vince, love the custom title. Not as good as mine but not bad.
I prefer gear whore but your term is accurate as well. I wish Nate was coming to the meet. My goal was to get him real drunk, put a check in his pocket and tell him he sold me the dac.
Having used it for the last week I can understand why he loves it.
