That's great Jeff! Nice work cleaning up those angle cuts.

It's a reasonable complaint. Put on the power cord first and connect the vacuum second. Easier that way.

The Jessem looks good but they will not fit on our router table. It's is 34" wide and the max for Jessem is 32". Also, Jesse's current models are more than the Woodpeckers fence, up to twice as much. I think the Woodpeckers version looks solid and has all of the features you could want, including joining on the router with offset fences.

Get well Jose! Have you been in that water, Greg?

Luckily for Steve, my new Woodpeckers Drill Press Pro table arrived right before he started the Colossus Counter project. It made the dowel holes a breeze, with no measuring. The fence and the fence tracks are marked in inch and metric markings, there are two flip stops, the fence is hollow and attaches to a shop vac, and those knuckle clamps are going to be helpful. The sides extend to 36" total and there is a drawer underneath. Good stuff. I'm seriously considering the Woodpeckers router table Super Fence, but I am not certain it is as big of an improvement.

Boards are easy and they probably can cut the plywood down to fit.

Ah. You can still put in clean hardwood or plywood piece over the holes.
-
You can place the pocket holes on the inside of the top and bottom of the box to attach the sides. Then line the top with a hardwood piece to cover those holes, while the mic holder/stand will be on the bottom to cover those holes.

Presumably, you guys are suggesting Baltic birch plywood, which certainly seems like a solid choice for the box itself and the shoe rack. You can also get quality plywood with even fancier wood faces depending the what you want for the finish. We used teak faced plywood for Stretch's bbq island but there is unfinished or prefinished maple and other options. Either way, you can use thin strips of matching hardwoods to trim the exposed plywood edges unless you like that look, and you can use solid harwood for the door on the microphone case.

Well, our covid Thanksgiving day is limited to me, Claire, Alden and Steve. The meal we thought was going to be more streamlined has taken two days of cooking and baking, and we're not done yet. Here's the allegedly shorter menu: Orange-ginger cranberry sauce Meeso-Horny, I mean Miso-honey roasted Brussel sprouts Sausage-fennel stuffing Sweet potatoes TBD by The TICE Brined roast turkey Giblet gravy Turkey-bacon-swiss burgers for Alden who doesn't like any of the Thanksgiving menu except dessert Pecan pie Apple tarte tatin (inclufed because Alden doesn't like pecan) Whipped cream So much for streamlining. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Pics along the way.

They look perfectly delicious.

Covid style lunch at the Marshall Store. Brought our own camp chairs and table. Fish and chorizo stew, Kilpatrick and Rockefeller oysters, and byo-beer. Delicious, breezy, and beautiful. I'm certainly thankful.

I'm still pissed that Bank of America took away my "Cash Maximizer" joint checking and savings accounts that had, for many years, a fixed interest rate of 10%. I got the account when I started practicing law and took full advantage of the interest rate until they retired that "product" and forced me into a new type of account.

Seeing as we cannot travel this year, it seemed right to use only local Bay Area booze and organic produce for Mattnog 2020. I also figured it couldn't hurt to use all the milk and cream and expand the recipe a bit (including another ⅓ cup of each booze and two more egg yolks, not pictured). We have a long quarantine winter to get through, after all! Before: After: You half-batchers are crazy. It lasts a long time and we're going to be stuck at home for the foreseeable! I ended up with a 1.25 batch so that socially distant gatherings can be warmed up...
