Help! - Audio Technica M50x Crackling/Static Noise

Featured Replies

So I've had these headphones for a bit and have used them with my laptop for a while, and I notice that in quiet songs especially there'll be crackles and static noises far too often for me to like. I use these while connected to my phone, however, and I have no static issues at all. My previous headphones attached to the laptop didn't have any issues either. Do I just have a defective pair of headphones? And if so, can I do anything about it? (They're refurbished so idk if that matters or not)Rufus MapQuest UpToDate

What did impel you to reply in a 3 year old thread with such an obvious advice? Not a very good presentation.

I thought that for the tiny link, but can a bot provide a reply making sense to the thread?  AI is getting a lot better

You have no idea! I only exist in the ether.

Does it crackle if you spin the plug while it is in the laptop jack? Might just be a dirty jack on the laptop if it doesn't crackle and static when plugged into your phone.  get-vidmate.com instasave

FWIW, I hear more of a little screech and a quick intake of breath when I spin the plug. Don't even get me started on the "dirty jack"!

I am not sure I would recommend my usual go to, which is CAIG DeoxIT on your male plug..
