I think ATI might be a closer match than anything Par-Metals could produce.

None of the rack mounted Par cases that I've seen have integral heat sinks, which I'm guessing you'll need for the build, if not something like this might work (click for link to ebay auction).

The Pars-Metal 12 series case looks like it will suit me very well and they're based in the USA (unlike ATI or Hifi2000).

Is the clear anodized (aluminum) the one that will look closest to the ARC finish? Thanks

They only have that one case listed on ebay, and I want something that's taller.

It'll take you years to get it, and we will be lucky if it has all the parts.

par metals is responsible for 90% of the delays with my m3. If you're not buying 1000 cases, they really suck at customer service.

Bottom line Deepak, the finish on the Par chassis is never going to be anywhere near a professional chassis that an electronics company would use. There's a reason that they are the cheapest large format chassis you can buy.

Nate, I just realized that I need a list of websites for all potential cases; the Head-Fi DIY showoff thread is mostly a sparse shotgun spray of random things, and trying to find a good case is starting to become difficult.

I understand the finish won't be some nice powder coating or anything, but as long as it's not raw aluminum it should be fine.

No worries about sharing, ordered a couple of cases, took about a month to get them.

But Grawk is right, the Ebay vendor, if you can find what you're looking for, is much, much quicker.

I believe the technical term is a "shit load". I think it's typically more expensive than the chassis itself.

Here's the thing, all chassis makers are a compromise of some sort, you can get any two of the following: quick, cheap, atractive, never all three.

I must say that I'm rather partial to that ARC look with the love handles. I'm going to miss it when I sell my PH3.

As far as I know it's just one of their Pesante Dissipante cases with a heavy front panel and optional handles. You'd just have to email them for more information, assuming this is what you're talking about.
