Wow, ordered the refurb silver Shuffle for $39 on Wednesday, used the free shipping option and it arrived today! I'll get it loaded up and it'll be ready for my ski trip this weekend. Kick ass!

Got my refurb today as well.

Wow, it seems like total fail.

Supposedly ety is making a shuffle approved earphone. I hope it has more then one button.

Are you the target market if it does have more than one button?

Given the way the new shuffle remote works, it could just be a way to make it so the remote has the smarts, and have it so remotes can be more flexible...

Apparently it is an authentication chip. As much of an Apple fanboy as I am, if they really are going to try and make 3rd-party phone manufacturers pay to play, then that is just not froody. :(

I'd say it more than offsets that by thoughtfully providing "smooth sound".
