Hello,

I would like to ask for your help in selecting my new set of phones.

The characteristics they should have are:

• To be comfortable (this might be very subjective, I know, but give me you opinion) as I will use the for long periods of time;
  
• To be durable (cables and specially connections should be resistant) as I am not the best owner for my gear;
  
• To be noise insulating (I will use them to be able to focus while working in busy places);
  
• To be portable.
  

The sound should be crispy (I mean I am not really a lot into heavy base) and light. I don't know if this is an accurate descriptions but it is what comes to mind. I listen mainly to pop/rock/indie music.

Now this would be all easy to achieve if I did not have budget limitations. I am looking for something around $50.

Keep in mind that they do not need to be earphones. They just need to be portable.

For what it's worth, I like my chicken crispy and light. Tastes quite good that way.

I kinda realized you are not nice old nuns that are into music and sound stuff. But, honestly, I don't care. Just wanna buy a set of headphones.

Stuff it down your years and put the tv vol on max.

Is it just me or does it seem to anyone else that we're getting more of these since the software change at HF?

It's not you. I don't mind them as much as others, but I do mind that few, if any, bother to actually spend a few days reading this forum for answers before deciding they deserve immediate attention, and asking questions that are better answered elsewhere.

maybe i'm not qualified to say this as me myself also very new to this head-case, but i totally don't understand what is the biggest problem for other newly joined member to read the welcome PM and actually understand it.

as how much it hurts and annoyed me to saw this type of "what is the best headphone under $50" or "what would you recommend for a newbie" thread started, i can only imagine how most of you feel.
