  1. Past hour
  2. Very great, familiar song that I never knew the name of, nor the act that performed it. Was led to it by the comments section in another video short:
  3. I despise and condemn how the current administration and the GOP have emboldened this hate and violence. I read stories like this almost every day, it seems.
  4. Today
  5. Hope you had a good b-day run along the beach!
  6. And three more dead in a North Carolina mass shooting yesterday. Both the NC and Michigan shooters were former US Marines who served in Iraq. https://www.npr.org/2025/09/28/nx-s1-5556033/north-carolina-shooting-southport-american-fish-company
  7. 4 people gunned down in a deplorable act of violence in an LDS church in Michigan. https://apnews.com/article/mormon-church-shooting-michigan-dcb79ee701b0b8076bf73e30e10ba2b7?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us I know I'm pro-2A and anti-superstitious, but I also believe in freedom from religious persecution. Fucking rednecks.
  8. Post-rock (of the non-crescendo-core variety) -- very tasty (The F1rst Take is a YouTube channel dedicated to showing (off) musicians performing a song -- live in the studio, or at least the ones on screen -- in its entirety in one take):
  9. Happy Birthday!
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. Happy Birthday, Wayne!
  12. Cheers Wayne - Happy birthday --
  13. Happy Birthday Wayne!!
  14. My musical tastes went in a different direction so I hadn't listened to this CD in years, on my LCD-XC it sounds totally different and way better than I remember from my K340 days. So much more punch & dynamics, and everything sounds tighter & more groovy.
  15. Happy Birthday, Cayman Santa!
  16. Yesterday
  17. Hope you're having a good one Wayne! Cheers!
  18. Speaking of Arvo, I had this in my queue. For Arvo by Georgijs Osokins (2025) https://album.link/cnccvbdpfrwff Example: Also worthy. And DG knows how to record piano.
  19. Moving aside the near-comic video, I kind of like the group singing. Reminds me a bit of Waulking music like Talitha MacKenzie, and Ashley MacIsaac's Sleepy Maggie
  20. ayea Yeah, that’s what I tell myself, “I’m mature”. My wife also says that but there is no space between the two ms.
  21. Very good but sparse and takes some patience to get into . Worth it. The museum (used to be a church) where it was recorded enhances the mood. Concerto Copenhagen and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir reimagine Arvo Pärt’s Music. Concerto Copenhagen and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir present …Lente, an unconventional interpretation of Arvo Pärt’s music. Taking an approach based in historical performance practice, this recording explores how Baroque instruments can bring a new dimension to Pärt’s minimalist and spiritual sound world. “Arvo Pärt's music calls to be performed on Baroque instruments—so that's exactly what Concerto Copenhagen and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir have done.” - Nikolaj de Fine Licht, General Manager of Concerto Copenhagen.
  22. You're not old, Jim. You are "mature".
  23. I totally missed this thread. Maybe I am subconsciously trying to forget I’m old. Anyway my thanks to all-you-all for the birthday wishes.
  24. San Anselmo ended their 2025 Live on The Avenue Season with a very well attended Performance by Super Diamond As the band Said Don't let anyone tell you, that Niel Diamond doesn't ROCK! In addition, there was a DJ In Imagination Park (thanks Mr Lucas) (Check out the states of Indiana Jones, and Yoda in the background)
  25. Posted on FB, had an awesome Music and Audio day yesterday. A vendor demo visit to a local dealer, met new people, listened to a near-$500K system, and reminisced with some old coots like myself who loved the Boston music scene in the 70's and 80's. Re-connected with an industry guy who I hadn't seen in maybe 25 years....got a hug of support when we shared our spouses' cancer history. His wife is still living, and I stressed to him to be ever-vigilant and monitor as much as possible; I'd rather scare people a bit and have them advocate than to keep losing lives thinking "I'm 100% cured." I just hope she never has to go back to treatments. But was a wonderful time. I won a raffle item of a McIntosh-sponsored Johnny Cash audiophile LP set. From the original Sun Master Tapes, 45rpm 180Gram vinyl, yada yada. Looking forward to trying it out! On the live music scene, last night an Audio Buddy and I saw Hiromi on her Sonicwonder tour. Just a stunning and engaging show! I last saw her in 2013, and both times were just fantastic. The venue was lovely as well....and an Angel's Envy neat in an "adult sippy cup" (plastic cup with plastic cover to help reduce spills) topped the eve off well.
  26. That IS awesome....but please stay safe!! I hope your voice will be part of a healthy turnaround!
