One of those email things. I found this one quite interesting and fun and thus have bookmarked it for occasional reference. Only thing that has me scratching my head is why it shows 2004 following 2010. Obviously a little problem there, but otherwise pretty slick. http://home.tiscali.nl/annejan/swf/timeline.swf Seconds Minutes Hours Day of week Day Month Year

My small town's Art theater just showed it last night, however it's been out since late december. Did any of you get to see it? I absolutely loved it however I understand that I'm in the minority.

By Eliot Van Buskirk Published on June 17, 2009 at 8:30am Carting a crate of used CDs to your local record store so you can make rent is a rite of passage as ancient as it can be tearful. But what about those MP3s and iTunes songs you're ready to unload? Is there a way to sell those off, too, when you get tired of them or just need some extra scratch? A new crop of consumer-facing music stores is focused on helping fans resell "used" digital music the way they do CDs. But the big conundrum with digital music is that there's no way to prove sellers legally own the songs on their computers. There's also nothing to stop them from keeping the songs they're hawking. Five of the most awesome car stunts - ever! Vid #5 - If you have the patience to sit through it, drifting through the streets of San Francisco Ken Block flies his Ford Focus through the air sideways through a curve, lands it and continues on like he never left the ground. One of my favorite radio personalities. He will be missed. RIP Gene. "If someone was homeless, he would treat them with the same amount of respect as he would the president of the United States," said Pat Thurston, a KGO show host and friend of Mr. Burns'.

I'm really enjoying hearing the Chronicles of narnia ( The Chronicles of Narnia: Amazon.ca: Tyndale Publishers: Books ) and am hoping for some suggestions of similar audiobooks with original orchestral scores and "cinema-quality digital sound design" (ie. produced on the level of a good movie rather than a stage play or solo narration). reading text in a book isn't an option the stage play and narration style audiobooks don't retain my attention, this movie style presentation is proving great (I'm now 4 books in ).

The O.E.D. is a historical dictionary, providing citations meant to show the evolution of every word, beginning with the earliest known usage. So a key task, and a popular sport for thousands of volunteer word aficionados, is antedating: finding earlier citations than those already known. This used to be painstakingly slow and chancy. When Paton started in new words, she found herself struggling with headcase. She had current citations, but she says she felt sure it must be older, and books were of little use. She wandered around the office muttering headcase, headcase, headcase... See here. [NYTimes]

I was listening to NPR on my way home from Arby's, when the announcer said that This American Life was 20 years old today! 20 years? I could hardly believe it. Here's the blurb from Ira; http://www.thisamericanlife.org/blog/2015/11/our-show-is-20-years-old-today
