Each time I hear sacd lover's MPX, or Edipus's PPX Slam, I reall like them. But I pretty committed to not getting a tube amp because I pretty much don't want the tweakability a tube amp provides -- switching tubes, spending lots of money on NOS tubes, not being able to find tubes that sound exactly like what you had before, etc. I just know it would drive me a bit nuts. So.... Does Singlepower have plans or has it ever considered making a solid state amp?

Possible production of new units. I am working on Craig to do a special "limited" run of the full size Zana Duex like I have. This would be for 10 to maybe 15 "hard in the books" commitment of people. He would point to point wire each and do one at a time with the possibility of some very limited assembly line type of thing going on. This amp has to be done by him personally to be correct. A one man operation. If you are last on the list it could be some time. Price is a guess at this point anywhere from $1500 to $1800. He thought he could do them cheaper but probably can't. Disclaimer: I am not an employee or partner of any kind to Eddie Current. I make nothing on this.…

I was wondering if an amp designer/builder can explain why so many people have problems running the hev70. Most of the are imported from the EU and it seems to be all sorts of problems yet they work fine in the EU. Is there any possible explaination for it?

After my recent experience with the Zana Deux in Cinci I was again reminded what a difference power can make. As I have found more powerful tubes to run in the Singlepowers they just keep getting better. Mikhail, I believe, has a little bias against the bigger power tubes like the 2a3/ 300b etc.. because he doesnt feel they maintain the amps refinement .... and you have to admit at a certain point how much output power is necessary. But me ... I think if you have a refined gain tube that sets the character of the amp ..... the more power you add ..... things only get better. With this in mind I contacted Mikhail about a 6c33 amp. I had discussed this about a year ago …

some dude posted this on some other random forum. perhaps if I didn't report the post to the admins there it would have lasted longer than 10 or 20 minutes? oops? oh well, we can still see it here, unless someone deletes this too. actually, I think they moved the thread since I can't access it anymore, rather than going to an invalid thread. (fyi this dude's handle starts with an "a," ends with a "k," and there's a "kwo" in the middle.) -------------------------------------- thread title: Headamp GS-X.. PICTURES! thread contents: http://www.headamp.com/home_amps/gsx/index.htm In my opinion, the nicest looking headphone amp ever. Seriously making me recon…

Well I have an AT W10LTD, W10VTG (soon), and AKG K280 on the way, and I'm gonna need a more versatile amp to drive them. I was thinking of something like a PPX3, but I'd like to see what all you old AT (and AKG) fans have to say.
