Some may recognize this from IT crowd.
  5. After listening to some of the best speakers on the market this weekend, there were a couple standouts, but one that really stood out because with was only $300. Sounded better than 90% of the stuff there. Hsu HB-1 mk2. Off an Onkyo integrated fed by a midrange Sony DVD player. All hooked up with zip wire.
  6. I actually thought about you before starting, but knew you would understand. True story. We all feel for you, man.
  7. 722 + 20 = 742 The wife bought me at a March of Dimes bachelor auction for $275 ($550 date). We were engaged 2 months later, married 8 months after that, and next month we'll have been together 21 years (but married 20 of those as of August).
  8. 698 + 24 = 722 The big 25 coming up. Started dating her while she was still in High School (sophomore) and I had just joined the military (19). We went to the same High School (she was a freshman when I was a senior).
  9. ^Very strange first post, but welcome to HC. Read and abide by your welcome PM and all will be well. 677 + 21 = 698 Met at work between college/law school, and went on our first date after about a year. We went night clubbing and as I was dropping her off at about 4am I asked if she wanted to go to a family party my brother was throwing that same day. Oddly, she said yes and met my entire family -- including at least one sister and one sister-in-law who were pregnant at the time -- just hours later. We've been together for the 26 years and two months since that date.
  10. 578+21= (any mathies in the house?) My calculator battery just died. OK I think its about 599 total, with 21 years of wedded bliss for me, and five for Mary.. Who knew that this mail order Russian bride thing would actually work out. Wow!
  11. 459+1 = 460 I was actually Lauren's pole vault coach when she was at UNH, and actually met her on her recruiting visit in early '02. We always enjoyed spending time together, at practice, track meets, and when the group of vaulters would get together for dinner. And while there seemed to be something there, it wasn't anything either of us wanted to pursue. We spent more time together after she graduated in '06, but it took 2 years for anything to happen, and we didn't start to date until the summer of '08. She moved in with me in '09, we got engaged in '10 and married in '11. The 7 1/2 year age difference has never been a problem. I think it's a good sign that in a one-room loft-style condo, where there's nowhere to hide, we have yet to grate on each other, or even really fight. Years of friendship has given us a strong foundation and I'm pretty excited for what the future holds.
