I'd go with the 0404 usb. i use it mainly for its balanced analog outs so i can use my powered monitors. plus having the usb to optical or coaxial doesn't hurt at all.

think of a regular pb&j. now think of a pb&j with melted peanut butter, jelly, and warm. the whole thing can get messy depending on how much pb&j you use, but after the first time I tried it microwaved, i couldn't go back.

microwaved pb&j sounds a great new title i had no idea what you were talking about so i looked it up and those don't look good at all. i just go the regular route. two pieces of bread, peanut butter on one side, jelly on the other, stick that shit together, microwave for 20 seconds. pure deliciousness. if you like pb&j, that is.

man as much as i like having the portability of a notebook, after i use this macbook for a few more years, i'm going to get a desktop computer, probably a mac mini. i just don't carry around my macbook enough to even warrant spending the money for it when i could have spent way less and had a perfectly usable, and space saving mac mini.

thanks tyrion. i'm getting more and more curious about this thing, and if it runs a hd580 reasonably well, then i may sell my lunchbox and invest in one of these. doesn't hurt that i have powered speakers that i can use with this thing either.

so what's the concensus on the headphone out on this thing?
