  1. I've used 23MB out of 250MB since April 30. I use it regularly, but very lightly, mostly to sync calendar/contact data to my office desktop when I make iPad changes on the road, about 20 hrs per wk, and remote control my office computer maybe 5-15 min per week or so. Sometimes I surf a bit, but I try to save that for when I am at home or main office, where I have wifi. I believe when you approach your limit, you'll get a pop up warning with an offer to buy an additional 250MB for $15. Morphsci, I assume you got 3G finally working on yours? What was the problem?
  2. iAnnotate: Allows one to 'write', highlight, take notes, and otherwise mark up in your own 'writing', onto a PDF file as you read it. Not sure I'll get this for myself, just yet, but thought some other heavy PDF users might find this useful (Monkey?). It looks pretty popular among lawyer/academic types. It's $6.99 introductory price. ************** Aji Annotate Also, check out our preview video on YouTube, for a quick tour of iAnnotate in action. iAnnotate is a PDF reading and annotation tool for the iPad. A completely new interface has been designed for the iPad, based on the only PDF annotation app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Features include: Full-featured PDF reader: continuous-scrolling page display with all standard scroll/zoom gestures supported. Tap to show and hide the interface for fullscreen reading. Tabbed PDF Reading: quickly switch between multiple documents. Tab setup and page locations are always remembered, whether switching tabs or quitting and returning to the app. A complete annotation system: Text Notes, Highlight, Underline, Free-Form Drawing, Bookmarks, and more. Our easy-to-use interface allows you to view and edit your annotations without leaving the document reading view. Full-spectrum color selection allows you to set up your personal color system for annotations. Fully Customizable Toolbars: reposition and resize, drag-and-drop to configure toolbar commands. Toolbars can be positioned on or outside the PDF view, and are optionally translucent. Comprehensive document and full-library search: search your entire PDF library instantly -- results update as you type your search term. Forward and backward search result navigation. Full PDF support: Copy-and-paste text, view existing PDF annotations, support for internal and URL links, and PDF outline/bookmarks support. Desktop Sync: Easy synchronization with PDF documents on your computer. Aji Support: integrated application help and tips, and top-notch email and forum support. For easy synchronization with your desktop PDF documents, dowload the Aji PDF Service for Windows or Mac using the links above.
  3. I have 15.1 GB available out of the 32GB with 24 apps, two movies I only put on to see how it looks, 733 songs (will probably add a bit more), very full calendar and contacts list . I'm good with what I have.
  4. Looks like you found a use for Corkulous? Very nice!
  5. The special water sounds good! The only thing better would be to do it in the sub-basement of tech. Ah, the memories! Think your admin would mind if we had a CJ field trip to do mojito caviar shots in the sub-basement of tech? We'll tell them it's for MGD, the Molecular Gastronomy Department. ) CJ field trip to Alinea probably wouldn't go over so well with the wife anyway ... 'bye, honey ... I'm gone for the weekend, you've got the kids, plus I'm going to that $500 restaurant without you.'
  6. Got my thong today! Very attractive, very functional. I've long wished for a case I could just leave my Pico in and not have to remove to use and cover again for storage, and this is it. Not seen in the pics above- very nice custom 'Pico' logo on the opposite side from the 'Headamp' logo. Well worth the price! Nicely done. Thanks, Justin!
  7. 909 - hooray for pugs! Here's our two - Ginger and Ollie are brother and sister, both rescues, and that's my wife getting a smooch from Ollie ...
  8. Always wanted to try Alinea ... Never could pull the trigger due to the price tag. Are you suggesting a CJ run to Alinea, or to the NU Chem department? )
  9. I got this last night, and really like it! I've been using it all day and think this will be my main To-Do list and basic project organizer. Thanks!
  10. That looks like something I'd use. Does it auto-date every entry? Does it have a search function?
  11. A few of those Timbuk2 murses are on sale here: Men's Briefcases / Laptop Totes - Save 35-70% on Famous Name Brands. I just ordered the small nylon messenger bag. They also have hemp, which looks really cool, but it isn't waterproof.
  12. If anyone wants to stream music from his/her computer, the streamtome app works pretty well. I got it to stream to my iPad, then I could listen to my Pico via the camera connector USB connector. It even worked with my Flac files! Not sure I get quite the detail I get with the native iPod app (need some more with it). Also, I can't surf simultaneously. But now I can access my entire music library streamed via wifi.
  13. I just dug up my old Think Outside BT portable fold up keyboard, which I could never get to pair with my old Palm TX. Took a bit to remember how to even open and close it and how to put it in discover mode, but once I did, it paired up right away to the iPad!
  14. Fetus going to sleep, starfish or soldier upon awakening.
  15. Mr address didn't exist, but it suggested another address which looked identical, to my eye. I accepted, and it went smooth as silk. I wonder if something small, like 'North Pine St' rather tham 'Pine St' or 'Pine' rather than 'Pine St' might nudge it enough? Or find your official address on the USPS web site? Just a thought.
  16. Quick impressions- beautiful, sleek, it's everything everyone said. Love it. All the native iPad apps are just gorgeous. All the iPhone apps look fair to horrible, can't wait for more native apps! Keyboard much better than I expected! Good enough for a few sentence at a time. Cnet speed test: wifi 932.6, 3G 958.9 (in my house, 5 bars strength) , not too shabby!
  17. ... make that 20 years that it sat on a shelf. Crap, I'm getting old ... I'm losing track of DECADES now ...
  18. Sell it on eBay. I got about $150 for my old HP 11c a few years ago. The hardest part was letting go ... but it sat on a shelf for over 10 years asking to be used ...
  19. Very cool looking! Reminds me of my old HP (11C?) calculator from my college years. No need for this any more, but gives me a nice warm feeling inside ...
  20. Am very interested in more impressions of these, keep it coming! Is Acoustic Sounds the place to order?
  21. I would have to agree with you on this.
  22. Well, that pretty much doesn't ever happen, so not so believable ... ... Much more likely
  23. Ha! That's really funny, that just puts the funniest image in my head ... we're sneaking around like addicts buying our tech stuff ; and what would you have told him if he woke up and asked what the heck you're doing on the computer at 5am ?
  24. Wow, 6099 orders in 16 minutes! Early bird gets the worm ... albeit a smaller worm in this case ... Bummer, Monkey! Although do I remember correctly that you ordered yours after careful, reasoned deliberation a few days later, as opposed to impulsively getting up early in the AM of the first possible day, while everyone else is fast asleep, and sitting in the dark computer room, hoping your wife doesn't wake up to see you're surfin' the web at 7am, then ask what you're doing on the computer at 7am, and wondering if it would be better to say you're surfing porn rather than to say that you're buying that new iPad plus a whole bunch of accessories for it ... ?
  25. Hooray!!! The email said delivery expected April 30! Wow, are they shipping overnight!? Funny, the camera kit I ordered didn't ship and won't until May 17. I did order another power adapter, and I got that email last night -I got all excited, then, 'grrrr, just the power adapter'!! But then got this at 508am this AM ... Mar 12, 2010 at 05:53 AM PDT - Order number W68737625 Shipped on: Apr 29, 2010 via FEDERAL EXPRESS Tracking #: xxx Product Qty. IPAD WI-FI + 3G 32GB-USA
