That was just an open cup that the smegster made for Kabeer - he has evil plans other than the fostex for it - I am thinking the largest center pinned driver ala PMB100 but we will see what Kabeer's evil genius comes up with - who knows he may even stick stax drivers in it ........ ..dB

Not at all - just got settled into the extended stay in Milwaukee Wisconsin. To be our new home. Accepted a teaching / clinical / research position at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Thanks Steve, I will miss Portland too, especially the beer !! But I honestly think this is best for the family and it is a great opportunity for me too. ..dB Highlight of my day was washing the dog after she peed herself during the flight - poor thing.

Packed up our pad, put the car on a "coast2coast" trailer and in limbo at an airport hotel till we fly to the midwest - this better be the right friggin decision. ..dB

I still have a pair of the old Pinnacle Gold monitors - they are pretty decent speakers, Dynaudio woofers and vifa tweeters. Might be worth driving them with the new outlaw too to see how they stand up. Enjoy ..dB

Hey Chris , this is very much a personal thing. Increasing negative feedback does reduce the gain but it also "cleans" up the signal. There is no universal sweet spot, it really is dependent on your preferences and hence the option of a feedback pot - you set it where you like it. ..dB

it is a hard plastic of sort - seem to be strong and durable. The guy in rockler had told me in the past that the military had started using these too, I guess I must have mentioned them enough to make an impression on the kids. The Kids got me a set of these Cookies for Father's Day. Well the audio geek in me immediately thought - damping supports and cheap!! I am sure these would make exceptional TT isolation pods and any other use you could think of as well as being an absolute must for any workbench. lol they generally aren't , I made up a few and happen to have had steve's TP's at the time so I retrofitted the O2 pads with a memory liner - made them conform just enough for a good fit. I am not surprised that folk liked them , I sure did. ..dB

I believe they were Colin's too. The damping scheme is near identical. As for the ALO cable thing, they sounded different in a positive way in the brief session that I had with the cables vs stock. I did most of my evaluation with the stock cables and loved the headphone. and now I wait for the Seattle postman to deliver and the smegster to recover from the nitrates..dB
