Cancelled: SoFla Mini Meet 7/17 - 7/19
This will either make it or break it for me. EDIT: I meant the BHSE, not Vicki's dance. Haven't listened to the O2's in three weeks now.

HD800? Another rumor?
ELEPHAS: What is the model of the ones on the far right bottom corner? I always forget. I want to audition those someday.

Grado HF-2 thread
No, there was another batch between the CanJam ones and the ones that shipped on the 2nd of July, right? If not, that means I am in the batch of the mispelled ones, since I get mine this week.

Do you pee in the sink?
How about... pee-pee king... oh wait, that's taken.

Do you pee in the sink?
Do you guys bathe babies in the kitchen sink, because that is also disgusting.

Sonic Studio 302 (aka Metric Halo ULN-2)
You are a god amongst men.

Sonic Studio 302 (aka Metric Halo ULN-2)
I wonder how this would stack up against the Ayre. Oh well, out of funds for either anyway.

Do you pee in the sink?
The correct translation should be "Basura Blanca" since the word trash is of feminine gender in the Spanish language, so "white" should be "blanca" and not "blanco" in this case. Also, adjectives always come after the noun in Spanish. This mistake makes the stuff they sell even trashier, I guess.

Do you pee in the sink?
I also had to pee in a bottle once while driving. I couldn't hold it, it was that bad!
-
Do you pee in the sink?
Of course not! It's a sink.
-
Do you pee in the sink?
The only place other than the toilet that makes sense to pee is in the shower.
-
Do you pee in the sink?
You guys must be tall or have very low sinks.

Parasound Customer Service
Pretty impressive, especially on a holiday weekend. Did he hint at new DACs?

Grado HF-2 thread
Well, Grado would probably have lost too much if they trashed all the messed-up cups. I think they should have just sold those pairs at a slightly lower price due to cosmetic faults, which is really all it is. However, knowing how ridiculous people get, rumors will spread of how other things were changed, and that now this one or that one sounds better.

Grado HF-2 thread
I really don't mind what mine say. I do, however, want to note the following observation: If I remember correctly, the first batch at CanJam had the correct spelling, didn't it? If this is the case, then Grado changed the engravers after they were revealed. I don't think it possible that the same engravers were hired for the job since they already had an existing template from those revealed at CanJam. Unless someone wanted to readjust the engraving and mispelled the word in the process. Who knows. Now, was the error caught before the most recent batch shipped (the July 2nd/3rd one)? If so, this batch might or might not have the error as well, but I doubt that the ones that ship in future batches will have it. I can see people trading them around though, wanting the F1's over the correct ones and vice versa.

"Cool kids" is a highly subjective term, being completely reliant upon what/who the majority is in a given room/event.

WTBorrow Gun
First thing that comes to mind is the BAT product line. I know they have multiple balanced inputs. I think there is even one that is phono/preamp, BAT VK-31 something or other (ran across it when I was phono shopping, but it was overkill for me). Have you looked into those? Just doing a quick search on the 'gon for "BAT" yields some results, but I'm too lazy to sift through them for you. EDIT: Oh! And there's also the Cambridge Audio 840E, solid state pre-amp with two balanced inputs. There are two for sale on the 'gon. One for $1300, the other for $1600.

WTBorrow Gun
You see why I told you to try it before committing to buy? Well, too bad it isn't what you were looking for. I was going to say that it makes sense it doesn't have balanced inputs, since this unit's primary function is that of a DAC and not of a preamp, but if I remember correctly, it had RCA analog inputs, didn't it, so that would debunk my theory. I just remember seeing a plethora of inputs in the back... EDIT: So pretty much you are looking for something like the Cary SLP-03? Look in audiogon, some nice deals (both well under $2k): http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1250425775&/Cary-SLP-03- http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?preatube&1250379920&/Cary-Audio-SLP-03-Flawless

Happy 4th of July, everyone
Happy fireworks day then, to non-USA head-casers? Why don't we have a happy Head-Case inauguration holiday? We can then send each other gifts and stuff a la secret Santa, and I would definitely send Grawk a pair of dog-pecker pink interconnects. EDIT: oh dammit, I just ruined the surprise...

Ayre USB DAC
A couple of pages ago he said he wasn't as interested anymore because it was USB input only. I guess after she was stripped naked he fell in love again. Can't blame him.

Happy 4th of July, everyone
This will sound damn cheesy, but I love this country. Those of you who know my story of why/how I came to the States will understand my sentiments a bit better. My life would have been much different had I not come here. Happy 4th, everyone!
