Ripping HDCD in iTunes?
blessingx replied to The Monkey's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Not surprising in the least, but as it just accidently occurred to me while this conversation was occurring, if you're iTunes, Play, Airfoil, etc. volume is slightly off 100%, the HDCD light goes dark. -
Ripping HDCD in iTunes?

x2, in fact I thought that was one of those much discussed informal tests of bit-perfect output - ripped HDCDs show on outboard DACs. -

I believe they'll redeem themselves by introducing a MP3 player that will hold contacts and calenders, then extend it by adding phone, Internet and application functionality. It'll be crazy.

I might be missing something, but why wouldn't it be in the discussion? BR will also die, and may in fact might (maybe likely) before DVD depending on how quickly downloads ramp up. Add to the content question (films just getting to DVD, that may never to BR), prices, collectors (as most content needs to be relicensed, there will be video extras, booklets, etc. that change/are eliminated in future releases and there's a movement to collect current versions), and most people likely not replacing titles they already own, DVDs are going nowhere soon. In fact a cleaned-up Criterion DVD could conceivably be a superior experience than a Fox Blu-ray. How is this different than redbook discussions of SACD/DVD-A players (and we know how that turned out)?

Everyone I came across at CJ that heard the AMP3 was very impressed by its SQ. Especially at its price. I certainly was and almost picked one up. Even goofily connected a pair of HD800s straight to them and it did pretty well. The biggest problem, that would have drove me crazy, was a seemingly very early, quirky OS/navigational system. Think a couple steps behind the first gen MobiBlu. There was talk of the next version being "much better." Has this matured?

Now that some time has passed, anyone have more SACD playback impressions?

Guess that's the reason for the "Fantasy Warehouse Clearance Sale product may be specifically marked for one-way sale" listing on each CD detail. No biggie for me. They can lose the whole packaging for the right price. Anyway, thanks again for posting the sale.

Keep practicing.

Okay, the rumors are getting pretty hard to ignore at this point. I guess we'll know in the next month or two, but here's the latest. "Secondary screen/touchpad?" Hmmm.

Marantz is set to release a SACD (and book) to celebrate their 30-year relationship with audio designer Ken Ishiwata. Could be, at very least, test disc worthy interesting. Stereophile: The Ecstasy and Agony

Listening to Mulligan Meets Monk redbook layer with the H-F1_2s and it's really pretty nice. That is all.

Thanks Dusty. Picked up a dozen K2s. Seems the sale is still on.
