  3. Yeah, I don't get that statement (besides the marketing advantages for the newer product). Stereophiles review either. My time with the A2 was slight (basically ordered a pair for a friend, heard both side-by-side in store, called friend and had him ship back, ordered A5 for him... then pair for myself too), but if you can mentally remove the bass completely from the other areas, the rest of the sig may sound similar. I consider the A2s bass to be so overpowering and flabby it's hard to hear anything else. So difficult for me to answer, but it's not just greater definition, etc. Only other hint is every A2 owner I know tries to fix with ramp/vibration stands and no one I know who owns the A5 does. I thought the A5 was also better than the M-Audio Audiophile BX5, but they have different purposes and it depends a bit on part of the signature (top v. bottom) you focus on. The BX5 was much closer to the A5 than the A2.
  4. Doubt the Quads have much to worry about, but the A5s are a giant step up from the A2s. Don't let the latter taint the former.
  5. There's the Harmonia Mundi 50th anniversary box set too.
  6. Oops, I didn't even know we were reserving tables. If there's 1/2 available I'd gladly fill.

  11. Smaller selections, but the B&W Society of Sound (on their site) and Reference Recordings (thru HDTracks or HRx on DVD as Al mentioned) has some great hi-res Classical.
  12. Nice. Not sure which was better for... Any other Sinclair users?
  13. Cheers to those of us who started on Timex Sinclairs! Even prepped us for near virtual keyboards. Timex Sinclair 1000 computer To be honest, except for some early models I had as a kid, the iPhone has been my favorite computer. Maybe that's why I'm so excited about the direction the iPad and Chrome OS tablets point.
  14. Pre-ordered for this weeks release on a film many have been waiting forever to show on VHS, DVD or Blu-ray.

  18. Congrats! Did you go the extra mile and pick up a protective case also?
  19. Maybe e-book prices won
  20. The next iPad. Well next after next after next ... * The iPad Is Step 1 In The Future Of Computing. This Is Step 2 (Or 3). * Though I still think the gloves and lack of portability will make a more direct derivative of iPad more likely even when this is a technical possibility.

  23. Looks like OS only at this point, but like the Zune, who knows? Can definitely see this gaining traction, but will the OS show growing pains with additional apps? Some more shorter vids here... Windows Phone 7 Series hands-on and impressions (updated with video) -- Engadget
  24. Played with the Nexus One again all holiday weekend. Damn nice. Hard to imagine anyone using one who wasn't a heavy Google apps persons, so in a sense it's almost as closed as the iPhone (heavily geared towards browser use over apps and Googles offering over others). If I wasn't in an iPhone contract and there weren't several essential (for me) missing apps, I'd consider switching because it's such a nice piece of hardware. We'll see if Apple catches up in hardware or Android in software first. Still fun competition. Even more so with the awkwardly named Windows Phone 7 Series phone prototype.
