Post what you're watching
Chernobyl miniseries on HBO. How close they came to making the whole region a wasteland.

https://www.planar.com/case-studies/project/memphis-police-real-time-crime-center/ The reality is more and more cities are going this way. Nobody really watches the screens. They're just background noise until something happens. Then they playback to find the perp and post the picture with a reward. Most of the city crime gets solved by hot anonymous tips that pay money. the caller gets a claim number and if it leads to an arrest, they can get paid. 901-528-CASH. The bulk of the people in the rows by the big screens are there to monitor calls coming in, not watch the screens.

The millennials/zoomers are now in a position where a college degree is more like a high school degree was 40 years ago. Employers want a degree for even entry level stuff that is brain dead work. And they pay crap. If you don't get specialized, good luck. And with Asian and India degree mills working overtime, guys with master's degrees show up at job interviews all the time. About 10 minutes into the interview you wonder how the guy tied his own shoes.Yes, I'm in my 60's. Thank god my kids have it together.

Long way of saying"we'll deliver it when we're good and ready". It still can't be as useless as USPS tracking.

Not a lot of fans here at all. Other than the for sale stuff, I don't read much over there.

This coming from a well respected audio supplier trying to sell me something. More likely this.

I'm looking forward to reviews. Looks like you have approached this with a great deal of thought. I used to work in industrial support for lens and camera production. So manufacturing process details are of interest. I might have to start saving up my $$$.

I'm ready for an honest test and complete disassembling of them. Some small part of me hopes that a new headphone that doesn't cost $2000 can sound decent. But, reality is a bitch.

I see these over in the other place. $500 Stat, based on pro bias. New offering from India. It said in the thread Spritzer will be getting a set. True, lies, or Trumpism?

How's your soldering skills? You might want to grab some junk circuit board to practice on. Other than that, the recap job is pretty simple.

$400-500 US is pretty typical of late for a SRM1 MKII. Getting back to the hum issue, have you tried borrowing a different source? Those old multidisc cd players are getting up there in age.

The network of stax dealers in the U.S. collapsed. The distributor (Yama's) was always a PITA. There's a couple of online dealer's, but most of the brick and mortar dealers bailed. They really need to make an effort to get this going again. The Dallas dealer always was well stocked and had demo headphones out all the time. They currently have one of the best headphone demo areas I've seen in the US. They have Senns, Grados, PSBs, and others out with a decent amp and source. It sold quite a few Stax systems there and I'm sure they could again .You'd think the new management would be all about making this happen.

I think a mental health check is in order. Licking the doorbell is a bit over the top by anyone's standards. Next up, fondling garbage?

If you can find a millett minimax for sale, that would be a good bang for the buck.

Am I to assume that Yama's is out of the Stax business? Not that they did much when they were.
