Portable headphone angst
Do you need headset/mike? I reckon a portable headphone is about half about good ergos. If you need it for phone duties I'd say the M-80. but cable noise gets in the way of calls outgoing voice sometimes due to the cloth covered cable. Still, I really like them. The P5 is awesome if you're not looking for grreat sound. The sound good enough without fatal failings, but the ergos as a headset is stellar, no cable noise, and spanky good looks and feel. Isolation is amazingly good as well for an on-ear phone .... comfy too. Fucking n00b, all that shit can be found at InnerFidelity.com!

Shelly! Happy birthday! Thanks for holding down your edge of the Bell curve around here.- Neutrality: An Audiophile's Utopia
Sandlanche .... used in a sentence: "Avocados and mayo lubed my lunch for a huge sandlanche at my first aggressive bite."- Neutrality: An Audiophile's Utopia
Ha! Fucking rabble rousers. Neutral is a short term goal for n00bs. Good to try for at first, mainly because there's so much shit out there. Once you get a basic read on neutral, then you've got to play the music for yourself and find what makes you happy. I write about it 'cuz I write for n00bs mostly. Old hands know neutral is just the starting point.- NY meet June 2nd 2012

Say Shelly, have you seen Ken Burns' "Jazz" documentary of the history of Jazz? It's really great and will give you a sweeping overview of the form. It's like a 12 DVD set. I've got a copy and would be glad to loan it to you.- Jazz recommendations please
Take Five - Dave Brubek - A classic, and terribly iconic of the Cool Jazz movement, only more unique with very unusual time signatures. Street Dreams - Lyle Mays - (All the Jazz guys go "WFT izat!?) Pat Metheny's keyboard dude gone to some other planet. Very environmental music. MOG.com is your friend.
