  1. All I can say is that all sorts cocksuckers get their shit fucked up in Season 3 of Deadwood. Through S03E04 and... Wow. Just taking a break to watch some pre-season football, then back to Deadwood.
  2. Those guys are 2 for 2 with Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead. Good stuff!
  3. My order from Amazon that just arrived... Nina Nastasia & Jim White - You Follow Me Wuhoooooo, I love new music! I've been good lately and haven't been spending quite as much, so buying this was a no-brainer.
  4. The SMC EZ-Stream box I have uses a CS4345 DAC, which is pleasant enough sounding. Not as refined as some of the BB stuff, but definitely better than a lot.
  5. I don't know... I kinda like it. Utilitarian with form following function. I think the looks of the rest of the amp more than make up for it, and if it sounds as good as it looks, I think a minor point like the biasing locations can be overlooked. IMO, of course.
  6. I had a Comcast DVR. I ran the audio from the DVR through coax to my receiver and it decoded the surroud there, with the video directly to the TV. I did the same thing with my DVD player. I didn't use the audio capabilities of the HDMI and just stuck with coax for the 5.1. And the coax/optical inputs are assignable on my receiver, so once it's set up correctly, it all goes where it's supposed to.
  7. Nothing in particular, I just figured it might open the door to some other options. I'm a big fan of Outlaw stuff in general, and I really like the HK I'm currently using. But regardless, the remote gets rid of the big hassle of switching inputs, and it's one less thing you really have to worry about.
  8. Ken, I just saw in the other thread that you have a Harmony remote. Doesn't that make HDMI switching in the receiver redundant if you have enough inputs on your TV? With my setup, I had all of my HD sources going directly to the HDMI inputs on the TV, and had the Harmony switch TV inputs when choosing the "activity" I wanted to do. Without a Harmony, I could see having to switch TV inputs would be a pain to do, but with the Harmony, it's just adding a step to each activity command list. Just food for thought, as it would open a lot of doors for receivers.
  9. Thanks everyone... Great day!
  10. My bad! I'm way behind the times. That said, the 970 is a hell of a nice piece.
  11. Like grawk said, Outlaw Audio is running a hell of a deal right now on their 950 Preamp/Processor and a couple of their 7 channel amps. IMO, Outlaw offers some of the best bang for the buck out there. I had a receiver of theirs for ages, and if this deal had been going when I recently upgraded, I doubt I could have passed it up.
  12. Just finished some cheese enchilades verdes w/ beans & rice... 2nd trip of the week to Loco Coco's... Sooooo very good!
  13. But didn't you guys read the comments in that FS thread?

Sorry. At least there's no nudity... I'm sure a mod will get to linking it sooner or later...

You mean like when people thought this was actually put in magazines? http://www.geneffects.com/humor/plannedparenthood.jpg NSFW come on, Nate, you know better than that!
  16. I keep seeing that FS thread get bumped and can do nothing but shake my head...
  17. Season 1, Episode 7 Enjoyable enough, and it's always nice to see Gabrielle Anwar getting work.
  18. Not to pat myself on the back, but I think the walnut cups I wasted on did for a pair of 125s are a leather headband away from being the nicest Grados I've seen... Currently contemplating doing another pair for my HF-1. Beyond that, I think the HE-90 combo of wood and metal is great.
  19. I do have to say I dig the burl cups, though. Much nicer looking than Larry's.
  20. These "Very Modded SR60" Grados might be in the running... Now, I'm all for DIY and every project takes some time to work out. I was lucky that the first mahogany cups I turned, that are still on my HF-1s, came out great, due in large part to my uncle showing me the ropes with a lathe. But to try and sell these headphones as they stand now, not to mention some of the comments in the FS thread... I'm at a loss for words...
  21. Season 1 of: Wow. Twisted, twisted, twisted. Good stuff!
