I love cats, and have 2, but that is one goofy ass cat!
  3. While things maybe taken to the extreme here, it's no doubt a reaction the the idea that everything is puppy dogs and sunshine over there. You can't tell someone what you really think because it's viewed as a personal attack. So there's no way to self-police over there... If someone's being a douchebag, he or she can continue to do so without ever being told they are, in fact, being a douchebag. So things don't change, and the signal to noise ratio goes way down. trose is viewed the way his is because nobody was able to smack some sense into him, and as a result, his antics continue to grate on people. When finally given the opportunity to vent about it, it should be a surprise that the response is loud and clear. I'd guess the dynamics of a smaller forum like this is what makes things work as well as they do here (and IMO, they do work here), and things could get out of line quickly with a bigger forum. But I think the dynamic here is great, and the self-policing by members is what keeps the signal to noise ration so high here.
  4. Yeah, but your sig over there is retarded, and it, combined with a number of your posts makes you come across like a self-involved pompous ass. Then there's your proclaimation that you have a high post count over there like it means anything beyond liking the sound of the clicking of your keyboard. Thus the reaction to your posts here. If you don't think that's an accurate representation of who you are, maybe you should go back, take a look at your sig, the general tone of a number of your posts, and the RANDOM USE OF CAPS, and decide if it's worth toning it down a bit, or just taking the shit most here think you rightfully deserve and deal with it. I don't give a shit either way... You've been on my ignore list @ Head-Fi for months, and I rather enjoy the beating you've taken here. So do whatever you think you have to. My $0.02
  5. Thanks... They tried to pull a fast one that I found when I was finalizing the details with the business manager... There was a $2,000 difference between what we had talked about and what they were putting on paper. I was ready to walk, and they took care of it... It was a miscommunication between the salesman and the sales manager, blah blah blah. But when I checked the final payoff amount on the vehicle I was trading, it was $700 less than what I told them I owed. So they wrote everything up based on those numbers, and if they expect me to shell out another $700 to wrap things up, they're mistaken. One mistake, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. But two? It makes them look like sleazebags.
  6. Provided the fuck-ups in the paperwork don't turn into a dealbreaker, a 2000 Jeep Cherokee...
  7. The first season really did have such a great balance of humor, heart and action. Best. Show. Ever.
  8. Well, Nate dropped of my modded EZ-Stream tonight, and the optical out worked great. My Denon DAC got a lock immediately, and it sounds great. Definitely opens a lot of possibilities. As for Mac compatibility, I have no idea. Sorry
  9. I can't figure out if this is real or if someone's fucking with us Either way, :D :D
  10. Yes, you need wireless or wired. Could you use a USB ethernet adapter in addition to your wired network connection to wire it?
  11. The SMC is only usable through the remote. As Nate said, once you build the library file on the computer, you just leave the computer running as a server, but don't have to touch it again until you want to add more to the library. My HTPC is in the living room, and the SMC is in my bedroom with the rest of my rig. I can't speak to Apple support, though. AFAIK, it's PC-based but that's not to say it can't be done, either natively or figured out by someone far more clever than me. But it's worked out quite well with my HTPC running XP Pro as a media server.
  12. I think the brown plastic looks pretty bad in the pictures here, but I think they look considerably better in the pics in the "Chocolate Donuts" thread over there. Maybe harsh flash photography isn't doing it any favors? In the other pics, the light brown plastic looked like it might be very similar to the lighter parts of the grain in the wood cups. I'll be curious to hear what you think when you see them in person.
  13. I thought Nate's K340's were a great match with his Wheatfield for acoustic/female vocals. I was very impressed with that combo listening to Joanna Newsom's Ys.
  14. Thanks for the explaination Justin. That does make perfect sense, and it is nice to see form following function.
  15. I think the faceplate looks great... I really like the style. But I have to be honest... That knob is... Ummmmm... Well, it doesn't do that amp justice to be sure. Ah hell, I'll say it.. The knob is ugly. Sorry. But the rest of it really does look fantastic.
  16. Nice! Well done Nate. I've been using one of these for a month now and it's a cool little unit. Out of the box, it sounds pretty good. IIRC it uses a CS4345 DAC, and is pleasant-enough sounding. Adding the versatility of the digital out will take this to a whole new level. I'm pretty psyched to be able to use it with the Denon DA-500, which has proven at work to do wonders to my vbr .mp3 filled library. And the ability to transcode lossless at the PC will come in very handy as I start re-ripping my CD library. So, when are you picking mine up?
  17. 5.5Gs will sell for a premium now, so people can get them to RWA!!! I should buy as many refurbs as I can afford from Apple and flip 'em for profit in a few months. 5.5Gs will be the new K1000/PS-1/HP-1000/W5000/L3000. Oh yeah!
  18. Lucy, Daughter of the Devil "You are an enormous douchebag!"
  19. The only plus I'll give Gateway is their customer service and tech support people are still in the US, so while they're often not helpful, you don't have to repeat everything 5 times and listen to someone in unintelligible English with a name like "Steve" from an overnight call center in India. The US-based people are able to tell you that you're shit out of luck in easy to understand English! And it's a lot more fun to yell at them when you know they understand you!
  20. Tickets for the Brothers Solomon... Hope it's not as bad as the reviews say.
  21. Outside of "Say it Right," bass beats may be all this turd of an album has to offer...
