And what a gift... This thing is the tits! I had the HTPC already loaded with my entire digital library, so now being able to access it in the other room is just the icing on the cake. And it sounds pretty damn good right out of the box. I'm enjoying some Trauma Pet as I type! Thanks again Nate!

New Hampshire Mini-meet for early August
Amen. Thanks for all the effort that went into it, regardless of the outcome. "You can call us Aaron Burr from the way we're dropping Hamiltons!"

New Hampshire Mini-meet for early August
If this happens, I'm sure I can rally. But having said that, if things fall through I won't be heartbroken. After working 65 hours a week for the last 5 weeks, with only one day off, I'm beat. And tomorrow, my second day off since June, will be spent attempting to rewire my JEEP. Again. So I'm guessing a lazy Sunday wouldn't be the worst thing for me.

Need help with an important life decision
I'm sorry, but anyone asking serious advice on a headphone forum gets what they deserve

New Grado RS-2
I could be wrong, but seeing older RS-2s and the sides of the new RS-2 in the additional pics leads me to believe it's just variations in the color of the wood. The closeups show obvious end grain. That said, I like the look without the buttons, and to be honest, I think the font is already growing on me. Edit: Having said all of that, I can (and have) turned better cups out of mahogany. I think choice of wood and attention to detail on finishing is definitely lacking.

Need help with an important life decision
Fucking A, man... Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars? Lawrence: I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man. Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time? Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money. Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks. Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do. Peter Gibbons: Good point.

QFT. The cups I turned for my HF-1s get significantly darker every year.

Review Gear You Haven't Heard
Why do we need a thread here to do this... Isn't there already a whole forum full of people more than willing to spout off about stuff they've never heard?

last.fm, ASIO, and foobar
I don't know what to tell you... I used Foobar @ work with ASIO4All to an Alien DAC for a while, and now my Denon DA-500 since January. And I've been running the Last.fm software with both DACs since September with zero problems. I get the usual server issues but I've never had a problem with it scrobbling if it has a connection. The only thing I can think of is you're using an out of date version of the Last.fm software or too old or too new a version of Foobar. Beyond combatability issues, I have no idea. Good luck tracking down the issue.

The Bourne Ultamatum
Well, considering the books often felt more like a chore than fun, the movies were certainly more enjoyable for me.

The Bourne Ultamatum
What the series lacks in faithfulness to the original material it more than makes up for in enjoyment. To be honest, I find Ludlum pretty dry, and while I found the story in the books to be interesting, I did find entire sections to be a bit of a struggle to fight through.

Dynalo vs. Dynahi
No, a 4-channel won't give a 3-channel single-ended amp. It will be the 2-channel without the active ground. IIRC, most of the reviews of the Beta are based on the 3-channel single-ended version. So the minimum would be 5 for an active-ground single-ended and the option for balanced. edit: For more reading, check here.

Dynalo vs. Dynahi
And in no way excessive!

All this talk about AT got me thinking...
Well, the MINT (w/ 2227s) wasn't doing a whole lot for me, especially after trying these with my Millett @ home. So I borrowed a 120 ohm cable from Nate and I'm currently using these with my Lunchbox and couldn't be happier. I don't know if it's the Lunchbox, the 120 ohm adapter or a combination of the two, but these sound much fuller with an improved botttom end.

Dynalo vs. Dynahi
You could make a 12-channel Beta with 6 in one gain configuration and 6 in the oher, with just a switch to choose which group of boards is connected to the headphone jack. Sounds like a simple and elegant solution to me, and I'd expect nothing less from this group!

They shipped out same day and FedEx delivered as promised. The only negative I had was they only had one of the 6FC7s, and I need 2. So they were just going to ship the one without contacting me. I caught it in time and cancelled that part of the order. But otherwise they seemed very good to deal with.

(2) Sylvania 2C51 to roll into my Lunchbox. Using one now. Tube Depot was out of the 6FC7 tubes I also wanted, so I guess I'll have to source those elsewhere.

Denon DVD-4800 or DA-500 -> Millett Hybrid or Lunchbox -> Woodied HF-1 or HD600 or ATH-EW9 I definitely don't forsee any purchases between now and then, though I have been known to suspend good judgement before...

No fuse. Ah, the joys of 1960's technology. I think there are a grand total of 2 inline fuses in the whole JEEP! Also just purchased, a new temperature sending unit and speedometer/cluster for it. I didn't want to do either before, but if I'm rewiring, why not?
