Yesterday - got my glasses damaged at work. Hopefully, my shop can fix them. The work has reimbursement for these sort of things, but only pays up to $250, which won't come close to covering the cost of a replacement pair if they can't be fixed. Today - went out to a local Borders store with my daughter to see if there were anything worthwhile on sale/discount/etc. I did manage to find few books for her but nothing for myself or the wife. I didn't stick around too long as the place was really crowded and it was getting worse.

Incidentally, the same model from the craigslist ad is going for $1439 refurbed from Apple. As others have said, I'd go with a refurbed unit from Apple - may be bit more expensive but you get one-year limited warranty. EDIT - Because I can't read.

Sorry to hear of this, elnero. I've been thinking of during the same due to issue with my right ear (most likely tinnitus). I'm still holding onto slim hope that an audiologist can offer some solution once I can get an appointment, but we'll see. At least I've still got my speakers and they don't bother my ears.

One thing to keep in mind about pre-made externals is that some companies have started hard-wiring drives in those things, meaning it'll be hard to recover the drive should the other components in it die.

While I have no idea how each one compares, I've been using MediaLink to connect my PS3 to my iMac for almost two years without any issues. IIRC, you should be able to try out MediaLink for free.

When I got to my car at the end of the day, I found several long scratches on the driver side of my car, on both front and rear doors. They're not deep scratches but still annoying. The fact I've only had the car for 8 months makes it worth.
