Ah, I see. Speaking of Grado, they were working on at one point on some attachments that made their cans effectively closed cans. I'll see if I can dig up the promotional paper that mentioned about that. I really wouldn't mind having a closed pair of cans with Grado sound.

As for the GS-1000 doppleganger, I believe those are surround prototype cans from long while back.

Same experience here. They've always sounded nice to me at meets (where I have to crank up the volume) but not so much when I sit down and listened to them at home. As for ear ringing, I personally would wait to listen to headphones till it goes away (and see a specialist about it if it doesn't go away).

Congrats on your new toy!

Sovkiller gives up his last CD3000. End of World predicted shortly.

I've been wanting to try them for some time since I've been looking for a pair of closed cans, but their current going price is wee bit insane. -
FYI , United Home Audio Products is the only US dealer I know for Ergo headphones. I don't know exactly how much a new pair costs, though, since I bought mine used.

Not buying any - just curious about quad pots. Besides that thing costs as much as some amps.

Aside from Alps RK-50, are there any quality quad potentiometers? I'm just curious if there are any others out there.

I remember reading in some old threads on HF that using Harrison Labs' attenuators degraded sound qualities, I've personally never used them, however. I'll see if I can dig up those threads. EDIT - and IIRC, it was a post by Hirsch that convinced me not to get them. -
Everybody is getting new sources (new DAC)

The transport looks real nice, Nate - and it's a top-loader to boot! I wish I was getting a new source, too. -
My girlfriend and I went to see it yesterday. We both though it was terrible as well. Thankfully, we went to a matinee showing so we only had to shell out an arm for the tickets.

I think it's Lavry Gold, if I'm not mistaken.

What the hell do you have to do to get an amp from singlepower?
Salt Peanuts replied to hungrych's topic in Off Topic
The first time I ordered an amp from Mikhail, it came in bit later (week or two) than the estimated time of delivery he gave me when I ordered the amp. When I subsequently had to send the amp back in for a repair and a minor upgrade, it came back within a month. This was about an year or two ago, though. I have a custom amp that I ordered sometime late last year that I'm waiting for, though some of the delays were due to my stupidity. -

I should have one coming in from him sometime soon(ish) as well. -
I think you guys saved me some money. Thanks.

Ah, got it. Hmmm, choices, choices.

Nate and thrice, thanks for the info. Now, is there any sonic benefit for 6 channel balanced configuration over 4 channel configuration?
-
Thanks, Iron_Dreamer. Your impression gives me some reference for B22 since I used to own an upgraded Balanced Reference. I wonder how much it would cost to have a balanced B22 built. LOL.
-
Iron_dreamer - how does B22 compare to your Balanced Reference?
