  1. Yeah, that "been" should have been "seen" and now I can't edit it since it's been a while since I put up the post. This is why I should read over things better when I post. LOL.
  2. Love the huge knobs in the front. LOL. So who's going to take one for the team and get one when it's available?
  3. Damn, Yikes, that rack is friggin' gorgeous! Makes me wish I had a better looking rack - you've been my ugly MDF w/ threaded bolts rack. For that matter, you saw all the ugly furnitures in my listening room. LOL.
  4. Of the ones I've heard outside of Singlepower (since they're not in your consideration)... HeadAmp Gilmore Balanced Reference (upgraded) HeadRoom Max Balanced HeadRoom Home Balanced (Max module) HeadRoom Home Balanced Yike's Exemplar OTL/32 (ASL OTL/32 that was modified heavily by Exemplar Audio)
  5. Good to see there's another D&D geek here. Haven't played WoD in ages.
  6. Happy Birthday and Happy Listening! Hope you get a hold of 701's soon.
  7. Another thing - if going the Stax route, you may want to wait a bit as they are/may doing minor updates to their amps. They just updated 006t to 006tA (006tII out of Japan) and 007t is scheduled to be updated soon. It wouldn't surprise me to see them update 717 as well relatively soon, though I have no information on that as of yet.
  8. Same here. And now it seem it's down again.
  9. I really like mine with KGSS, but haven't really tried them with 717. IIRC, a new 717 imported from Japan will costs you about $1000 to $1200.
  10. Correction - it's not that he didn't playe well, but your team didn't give him enough at bats since your management thought he couldn't hit well enough to be an every day player. Some players just do better when given a chance to play every day. Also, the original contract that he signed with Red Sox was a very, very modest one, relatively speaking.
  11. I have a day off from work today (well, Monday, Tuesday, and yesterday as well). Which worked out rather well for me as I catch up on some music listening. Have to go into work early tomorrow though. Oh well.
  12. Well, one pair has been connected to my Stax rig and I'm taking a listen as I type this. Very nice.
  13. Zach, I got the cables from you today. I haven't connected them yet, though. Just wanted to let you know one of the pairs is even mocking me right now. LOL.
  14. Ah, I see. Over the past year or so, I've been tempted to grab a pair few times, but never really could pull the trigger. My wallet's rather happy about it.
  15. Wait, how many pairs of HP1000's do you have at your disposal?
  16. Seconded. It really does look like a nice DAC for the money, too. Too bad the Japanese webpage for CEC doesn't really talk about anything other than basic spec.
  17. Salt Peanuts

    AKG 701

I had let mine burn in for about 250~300 hours or so before I did any serious listening of them. I did start using them almost immediately after I received them, though.
  18. Man, is there anything good about the cans? Sorry about your experience, but thanks for taking one for the team.
  19. Hey! But yes, watching a die hard Sox fan and a die hard Yankees fan argue is rather entertaining. I'm a fan, but not a die hard one. Not a Mass native either. I don't remember the last time I've actually gone to a game to watch the whole thing.
  20. Man, I'd get my membership stripped if they find out that I've done business with a Yankees fan. LOL. Hopefully, they'll continue to play well and win the Division for a change. GO SOX!!!
  21. It does help that they have the second largest payroll in the majors - the main reason I get annoyed when other Red Sox fans whine about the Yankees spending so much. I really do wish they'd spend money on making the Fenway more comfortable, though. I take it you're not a Red Sox Fan?
  22. Just wondering if there're any Red Sox fans here? So far so good, though I hope Coco will come back quickly from the injury. I like how Beckett has done to this point and let's hope his chronic blister problem doesn't surface this year.
  23. I guess there's that. I did use to wear them at work and in library. I think Philodox used his on his commute to work...
  24. Just my two cents.... The one I have tried (one of the few, if not the only one, 4gb Nano with iMod done on it) sounded really, really nice. I had a chance to listen to it extensively in a two-man meet a while back. Thought it wasn't quite an eqaul to an Apogee Mini-DAC that was at the meet (I used to own one), it more than held its own. I would definitely consider it having done on my iPod if/when I wanted to seriously upgrade my portable rig.
