ODE TO SPAM. Most of you know that I'm a country boy. I may be gay, but I'm still a child of the woods. I was born and raised in Alaska, but my parents are both from South Texas. I grew up on Texan and Mexican food. Biscuits and gravy for breakfast, enchiladas or chicken fried steak for dinner. I always say I spent half my life in a tent. Sometimes we'd be in the middle of nowhere for weeks at a time. We relied on Moose and Caribou to fill our freezer. It was a fantastic way to grow up! I cherish those memories. Because of the long trips miles from civilization, we needed food that wouldn't spoil. One of the items we always had on these hunting trips was Spam. When the bacon ran out, it was Spam and eggs for breakfast. Even at home there was always Spam in the cabinet. Having two older Brothers, the lunch meat was often gone when I went to fix my lunch for school. So I'd break out a can of Spam. It started as my only alternative, but I quickly developed a taste for the stuff. Even to the point that I'd pass over the ham or roast beef cold cuts for my good friend Spam. Even today I feel the craving a few times a year, and I overcome the judgment of others as I take the Spam from my cart and place it on the belt at the checkout. Like a full moon to a werewolf, I felt the calling yesterday. So I loaded up a few cans of my old friend, along with other grocery items. Today I went to make myself a sandwich for lunch, and while grabbing pickles from the fridge, I spotted a jar of Tostitos salsa con queso dip I had picked up with tortilla chips. Hmmm? A healthy slather of the queso dip on a slice of the bread and some thick Spam slices, and a new favorite was concocted. A side of Grillo's pickles and Cheetos puffs, and lunch for a King was served and fully enjoyed! OK, King of the trailer park maybe, but I can live with that. I'm mostly English, Irish and Scottish, with a little dose of White Trash to round things out. D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S !

Mouth watering.

Just started Nine Perfect Strangers. Watched the three episodes available. The jury is still out. Contemplating Chappelwaite. Based off of a Stephen King story, so worth a look.

Come on people, it's a great cause!

So you can't slow it down between tracks?

Welcome to the jungle gym.

You can have a copper pan made, which will last at least 100 years. The thing is, today people want to remodel around 15 years or sooner. 75 years ago, remodeling was for the wealthy, and even they waited 40 years in between remodels.

I did pick a replacement. Kevin Paffrath. If they do recall him, I want my vote to be a Democrat.

Celebrity Game Face. A lot of fun!

Actually Friday, but forgot to mention voting against the recall of California Governor Gavin Newsome. Not if I can help it Republicans!

Ceviche is generally made with some variation of white fish. Wondering how it would be with salmon? I may need to experiment. Salmon, shrimp and scallops sounds worthy.

Beautiful build John!

I feel that I'd definitely have something to offer Redneck Jam. Yes, gay rednecks exist. Assuming redneck = country.

I almost always brine salmon. It's just so moist and delicious.

Why does everyone assume they'll be pushing up daisies? Surely some of us will be fertilizing Lillies, Carnations, Hydrangeas, Buttercups etc ... Maybe even non flowering plants or weeds. I myself imagine I'll be pushing up Zucchini or Cucumbers.

And I'd like to add that Jennifer Coolidge is a National treasure! She doesn't get enough acclaim. I just rewatched Best in Show, and she's just so good!

I loved the characters and some great acting. Catherine Keener has an especially juicy role that she excels at. But it does get quite weird! As for White Lotus, episode 4 was my favorite, which will be obvious to anyone that knows me. But I enjoyed all of it.

Unless they're marinated in water. That seems somewhat intuitive. Salt or fresh, dependent upon species. That's not just a smartass remark, although it is that too, but I've had great experiences with brined fish.

Agreed on the card scraper, but maybe these in this situation. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S2DT3K5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GH12CB2PGVY6RE4TDZPP?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Done #2! I didn't mean I did number two. Well, actually I did do number two this morning, but that has nothing to do with this. I just meant that I donated second, after Todd. Oh hell, you know what I mean.

Dude, never soak your chicken mcnuggets!

If that doesn't work. I'd hand sand the bleached area with 220 grit paper, then use some sanding sealer with a foam brush to cover the sanded area. The sanding sealer will stop the stain from soaking in too much. You may have to buy two or three stains to mix to get the right tone. It's not an easy task. I'd mix stain and practice on a scrap piece of Mahogany. That's going to be close enough to what you have. When it looks right on the Mahogany scrap, then you should be safe in staining the actual blemished spot.

Unless you know for certain, I'm almost sure that's an engineered flooring. Which means you have about 1/4" of solid wood, with intergrainular plys beneath that. The problem is matching up that stain. I would recommend you call in a good flooring installer to repair and stain match. It won't be very expensive, and will get you the best results. You do not want to take a sander to that floor! The hand hewn texture will be completely fucked up if you do. Call in a professional. That's not always my advice, but in this circumstance it is.
