  1. I had to manually enter the 6 pairs of address into the Linksys software. Similar to what is done at: https://www.support.uidaho.edu/FAQ/Wireless/Find%20MAC%20address/iPhone.htm
  2. First I would like to thank Ari for the opportunity to listen to the "RS-60". Now, what the heck is a Grado "RS-60" you ask" Fair question, it is a hybrid concocted by our own nikongod, member of Head-Case. He had a vintage RS-1 (w/ the brown leather band) that somehow a person managed to blow the drivers off, so he transplanted a pair of SR-60 drivers into the old RS-1 frame creating the "RS-60" which I have had for about 10 days. Here is a picture with the RS-1 to the left and the "RS-60" to the right. So, how do they sound? As you probably imagine a lot closer than expected, but there are differences such as: 1. The treble is more extended on the stock RS-1. I can see where those who do not care for the Grado top end would choose the "RS-60". 2. The "RS-60" plays louder at the same amp volume setting, this took me by surprise and others found the same. 3. The RS-1 has a wider sound-stage, while the "RS-60" although the sound stage is a bit narrower it has more impact. 4. The RS-1 has an overall clearer, more detailed presentation. The above differences were consistent regardless of whether I used a SS or tube amp. I have been listening to the "RS-60" quite a bit and will go out on a limb by stating that if you you just want to listen to music then this may be more appealing than the RS-1. This because the RS-1 IMO demand constant attention while the "RS-60" allow you to simply immerse yourself in the music and have a good time. If on the other hand you will be comparing gear the RS-1 would be my choice since it is more revealing, has better micro-dynamics, better decay, and it is clearer. Note: These are not night and day differences. Thanks.
  3. Linsys wireless router to setup a home network. Getting the network to see and configure the iPhones was a mess that took the better part of 1/2 an hour with the overall install taking 1 hour. Not as bad as I thought it would be and now I feel I am in the 21st Century.
  4. Boston? I thought you were all going to the BeerFest in the Tampa area.
  5. Small mouse for the EeePC netbook at Office Depot and ordered a ram module to change the 1 Gb to 2 Gb.
  6. Nate, I need to learn more on how to use the Squeezebox 3. Too many people like yourself are enjoying it sound and ease of use, so I will read on the device and its benefits. Thanks.
  7. Hope you enjoy the bottle Fitz, and once again thanks for all the hard work you did. Pd: Georgia laws on liquor still suck 30 years later(left Atlanta in 1981 after graduating from college).
  8. A couple of days ago I received an Eee PC 1005PE which is doing a fine job of feeding Apple Lossless files from iTunes to an external DAC via USB. Next I will up the RAM to 2 gB. So far very satisfied.
  9. Drove back from the Head Fi Meet held yesterday in Fort Myers.
  10. The K1000 arrived today! thanks again Fitz they sound and look great.
  11. Met with two members of Head Fi gjkphd and vorlon1 and had a mini meet, lots of fun. Here are some pictures. The best part was playing with Monty, an almost 15 year old Havanese.
  12. I believe Fitz finished fixing them and ... I am just so happy! Thanks.
  13. Thanks, I will wait until the Eee is in.
  14. Any particular vendor I should attempt to obtain the additional 1Gb or RAM from? BTW, I am thinking of using Kaspersky anti-virus. Thanks.
  15. Finally bought netbook, it is an EeePC, 10.1" 1 gig of ram and 250 gigs hd. It should arrive in a week or so.
  16. Awesome work there Fitz! I can now see the paint overspray as well, I just can not believe someone would use this kind of headphone while painting. Utterly crazy, both the use while painting by a previous owner and the detailed "surgery repair" you have done.
  17. You guys have a lot of patience and talent, nice going.
  18. I own an NM24 DAC by Monarchy Audio. This unit sports a tube dac, an ss dac, and a tube line stage and has been my main dac for about 19 months. So far I have been very satisfied and recently I was thinking of a way to further improve its performance. Thus I thought of getting the Monarchy DIP/Upsampler. The DIP/Upsampler Combo sells for $399 and its specs are ... Decodes 16 to 24 Bits Inputs: Opto, Coax, AES/EBU Balanced Outputs: Coax, AES/EBU Balanced Upsamples from 44.1 to 48 or 96 Khz (user selectable) Outputs 24 Bits Has anyone here used one? Thanks.
