  1. A few cardboard boxes so I can ship a few (4) packages tomorrow. Finally got around getting cleaning wipes and now everything looks so nice on my computer screen.
  2. I am one of those who did not care for the W5000 either, heck I thought the W1000 sounded better at almost half the price.. I realize there is a lot of anti Ultrasone in some venues but have you listened to the Ed. 8? I have seen them go for under $1,000 although not often. I also like the Denon's a lot specially w/ the MarkL Mods and wood cups (I am in trouble now for saying so). If you would like to explore the very low end (price wise) how about the Equation Eartool RP21? Good luck in your search.
  3. A bunch of Lemmar AA and AAA low discharge batteries and a replacement battery for a MiniBox-E+.
  4. The Kenny Burrell and John Coltrane is great! Although mine is a CD not vinyl.
  5. Took the day off since the President is scheduled to have a fund raiser at Gloria Stefan's house (she lives across the waterway) and I did not want to risk the traffic jam on the causeway's leading to Miami Beach. So I basically did nothing at all which in my book is a good thing.
  6. Nice work Nate. I used to have a set of custom grips made out of wenge for my Norinco 45 and they were beautiful. As a fool I sold them.
  7. Woke up at about 7:35am and visited a few forums. Afterward went for my morning walk with the wife and then went for breakfast at a local restaurant down the street. Then off to buy some "stuff" to unclog an slow draining shower, finally to a music store to buy a few Cd's.
  8. I just went on a cd buying run! 11 cd's for me and 2 for the wife. 01. Hilton Ruiz - Doing It Right 02. Chet Baker - Sessioni In Italia 03. Candy Dulfer - Live At Montreaux 04. Rachelle Ferrell - Individuality (can I be me?) 05. Incognito - Eleven 06. Incognito - 100 And Rising 07. Incognito - Inside Me 08. Heavy Shift - The Conversation 09. Valerie Joyce - The Look Of Love 10. Fourplay - X 11. Mindi Abair - It Just Happens That Way
  9. Ditto for getting there ok and being able to post, and keep safe.
  10. ^ Interesting observation morphsci, as a past owner of a PinkFloyd modded V3 and owner of an also PinkFloyd modded V2 I can not agree with you. But that is OK, we all hear differently. DefectiveAudioComponent, IMO the bass is one of the best attributes of the X-Can V2 and V3. Granted my impression are w/ modded units using the Little Pinkie PSU. BTW, I found the Solo SRGII w/ PSU1 a better match with the HE5 than the EF5. Good luck.
  11. Monarchy Audion DIP Combo and a pair of their RC-1 coaxial cables.
  12. Come Dance With Me by Hilton Ruiz
  13. Airline ticket to Atlanta to see my parents and attend the Atlanta meet on 5/8.
  14. No, it actually looks more like a Honda now!
  15. Took my father in law's 10 year old CRV to get it detailed. After washing, clay bar, polishing with a buffing wheel, and waxing it looks beautifuuuuuuul!
  16. Actually a lot depends on how loud you listen and if your source can output 2 Vrms. In my case the X-Can V2 using a Little Pinkie drives the HE5 very nicely (I listen at low volume). The X-Can V2 put out 1 Watt and the V3 1.5 Watts.
  17. Nothing, just hung out and listened to music all day. Come to think that is pretty good.
  18. For some unknown reason I went and bought a PA2V2 amp from Gary of Electric Avenues. The PA2V2 was my first portable amp 5 years ago and I just had to get it again.
  19. Has anyone used a Bottlehead Paramount 300B mono-blocks to drive the K1000? I received said recommendation at the Bottlehead forum and there are a couple of used ones in Audiogon for about $900. CD44hi, you could also pick up the new Peachtree iDecco to use w/ your iPod and K1000. Very tempting for an office rig.
  20. Kevin, I do not see Leporello, Giovanni, and friends! You are not concerned they will chew up some of the cables?
  21. Yes, my wife loves her RX. Hope your wife enjoys her new ride, congratulation.
