That back of the earpad on the HE5 is a bit different from the one I have.

Today I received the K1000 (first set) that Fitz resurrected. What a sound, this just about kicks the ass of every other dynamic headphone I have listened. Interestingly enough I did a side by side of the K1000 driven by a Signature 30.2 with the EF5/HE5 combo. Yeah I know different prices and types but ... Anyways the K1000 just kicked but and I almost put the EF5/HE5 out to the curb but then I remember their price differences and settle down. Anyways, wanted to say thanks to Fitz once again for the nice work he has done and for just being a great guy. THANKS!

No you pull, there are four platic ears that slide under the ring holding the unit together.

Today I received a pair of replacement pads since one of mine was coming appart. I will try to take a picture tomorrow to show the back of the ear-pad and how it attaches to the headphone. Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback. I cancelled the payment and sent eBay message already. Thanks again.

Well this turns interesting. After paying with PayPal using the link fro eBay I get a message from the seller telling me that eBay has not updated his PayPal user-name and that I need to cancel the payment I made (allegedly to the old account) and re-submit the payment to a different PayPal user-name. However this re-payment would be outside of eBay and although it is $90.99 I am hesitant to follow through. I have sent a question to eBay and waiting for their response. Anyone here ever experienced a similar situation? Thanks.

Hope it works out for you, the Adcom gear from the mid 80's sounds very good.

I did a search and found a company that mods/services the Adcom GFA55II. I have no association nor any idea if their work is good or expensive, here is the link: Big Sky Audio, LLP - Service, Repair, Restoration, Audio Upgrading, Modification of Hi-Fi Stereo Power Amplifiers, and Shortwave Radio in Helena, MT

I have wanted a X-10D Tube Buffer by Musical Fidelity for a long time, no real reason but ... Anyways I just won one in eBay for $90.99 including S&H. Should be here in about a week and I will pair it with an X-Can V2 w/ the PinkFloyd Mods. Both will have Little Pinkie's PSU and for some reason I am quite excited.

Those are very cool smileys!

Nothing interesting, washed and waxed the car and later for dinner the wife and I ordered Chinese from a restaurant 1/2 a mile away. The rest of the day just listened to music and posted in various forums.

Didn't Fang state that the HE5 had been modified including the impedance. If so wouldn't that have an impact on the sound.

If he had not shown his face w/ the cars I would have never known they were models. Very nice to say the least.

I have an old cross-feed built using the specs published by Dr. Meier, it has been sitting around and I started using it w/ the EF5 and HE5. Interestingly enough since the cross-feed removes a bit of the top end the HE5's are much more listen-able than before. Wonder if any of you has tried cross-feed as a means to remove some of the top treble energy. Cheers.
