high price tag coupled with a rare discounted headphone changes its sonic presentation. not... it reinforces to me that public perception plays a huge factor on impressions, which are driven in part by current trends and reputation. i was being sarcastic The K-1000s haven't really impressed me at all until i heard them on foo_me's rig, but the "proper set-up" should conceivably work for most decent high-end headphones especially when the other components enter the high-end, money no object range or whatever it takes to make it sound phenomenal.

best headphones ever.... most people were singing a very different tune before they were discounted. i'm not a K-1000 fan, but foo_me's rig is truly exceptional.

crazy, how could you stand the heat or sleep comfortably without pumping the a/c? my folks always kept the temperature in our home around 68* during the warm or hot months and 78* during the cold ones. my wife and i like to keep out place pretty cool usually below 70* though not below 64* when it's cold.

fans in an amp especially a tube amp, he supposedly doesn't do it any more, but it seems so counterintuitive. i can't even think of one instance where i've seen or read about an amp having a fan in it--very strange.

grado is extremely lucky to have Head-Fi and customers will to pay up the nose for cheaply constructed, poor workmanship, and somewhat uncomfortable headphones--and their customer service in my experience isn't always wonderful either.
