Nate, I do have an Apple TV! And while it would work for music through AirPlay, I don't think it can take a digital input from my tv and output to the monitors. But I forgot about audio engine and they may have something I can use. Grahame, it does convert to lpcm 2.0. Dusty amd doug, will definitely take a look.

Hi, I am looking for a set of cheap bookshelves/speakers that can take a digital input from my tv. I just got a new gt50 for the main viewing family room which has a decent sound bar. The g25 that was there went upstairs to the living room, and the stock speakers are real bad. Would love to just take the optical out from the tv, plug them in the speakers, and be done with it. I could have swore such a thing exists but I can't seem to find it. Thanks! If such a thing does not exist, i could also do a small box that would fit inside an entertainment furniture, that would be able to take a digital in, be an integrated amp of sorts, which could output into normal speakers. Yes I know I'm asking for a lot:) thanks.

Heads up to iPhone oppo users - there is a nice remote app that works really well and is super easy to use, very intuitive and simple.

I am a teacher. You do not want to arm teachers, trust me on this. Mental health and how it is diagnosed and treated is a huge issue in America. My school does a good job providing support services as well as identifying said students for professional consultation, and with a full time school psychologist plus an extensive student services team, I feel they are doing the best they can to identify and support students that may have some moderate to severe mental health issues. I don't know much about guns. I've lived in one of the most urban populated areas in the us my whole life in a state that already has some gun control, which i feel is warranted being in such a densely populated area. You don't want people in the city to be able to carry a concealed weapon, and Chicago has done a decent job trying to prevent access to assault rifles. Most of my friends do have some kind of pistol or hunting rifle that they keep out of sight and locked, but I think this situation is completely different and is more about the state of mental health and how we treat and diagnose it than gun control.

Could you argue that the f6 is maybe a fancier circlotron?

Easy to insert? Comfy while in? (No sexual innuendo implied)

I presume the update is given...orally? (Too easy)

Well one thing is for sure it's versatile. I mean it literally does everything, other than fellate you. $1300 for that is not too bad.

I'm guessing that's a field coil magnet.

Yeah Jon at Lowther America is pretty adamant that the older bullet style plugs have better dispersion than the newer "shower head" ones - he said the new ones actually whistle at certain frequencies. When I got my dx65's he didn't even bother asking me for a choice and just put the bullet style on them.

The GS-1 is completely opposite of the Melos and to this day remains one of the most refined and transparent amps I have ever listened too.
-
I concur. I've always thought the Grado Melos thing was way overhyped. However it sounds like something is wrong with your Melos. Mellow was never my impression, it was always more on the side of way too hot, way too much gain, and just really a raw, unrefined sound. I think that's why people liked it, because it was basically loud and gritty and the whole Grado rock thing made sense.

Time to start looking at replacing my crappy HT soundbar and looking at getting a cheap receiver and some bookshelves - those prices for the apparent quality is ridiculous.

Obviously. Oh and moar bass.

Ok, this is truly a serious question...it appears the original point of the 3A was to do the crossover digitally which would take care if time and phase issues. Then the patent issues were brought up and he went back to the old crossover in the iem and the 3a simply became a tri amp system with bass control. Now it Appears the crossover in the iem has been redesigned to account for time and phase issues which the 3a supposedly had taken care of. So why would someone go with the 3a currently vs just a normal freqphased jh16?
