  1. It's really easy to implement on your own. You just need any cable that is 75 ohms and pretty consistent impedance across the whole cable, and each end of the cable is terminated with a 75 ohm resistor between the + and ground (don't quote me on that). Belden has lots of good wire options, their 1694 is rated at 75 +- 1.5 ohms across 1000 ft which is pretty darn consistent.
  2. Whoa what rock have I been under headcase has a twitter? Thanks Todd.
  3. Have a fabulous day!
  4. Nate, I can't think of another person that has had more bad luck with apple than you. Apple owes you stock in the company for shitting on you for so many years now. Sorry bro.
  5. Does anyone have issues playing 24 96 files? I am getting audio dropouts. Just checked my original source files and they are fine. Is it a bandwidth/Ethernet issue?
  6. Ah, I am using the trial dbpoweramp and they don't have those transcoding options. Will go ahead and purchase it as its a pretty useful tool. The trial version doesn't let you edit tags either.
  7. Ok I kid one more question I have a 24/96 flac which will convert to apple lossless but it can't transfer to the iPad - how do I change it to 16/48 in order for it to be transferred and played?
  8. Ok one more flac newbie question - the default compression ratio is level 5, is there any reason to change that?
  9. Works for me! Screw $10 apps!!!!
  10. OMG jwjdjsjsbdnshsndbs Sorry excited.
  11. It appears FLAC player is the only one that has an airplay option (which is what I need). But damn $10.
  12. Well it appears easiest thing to do is convert to alac. Wish I would have done that vs ripping them all to FLAC in the first place.
  13. What are people using to play flac?

Didn't you just buy a CD player with DAC input from me?
  16. Damn, just about to say the smyth. I was surprised how many of the HT nuts on avsforum use the smyth
  17. Birthday beers! Have a good one.
  18. Thanks Larry. I am sure it is a great sounding and working piece of kit, its just a lot of cash for the one specific purpose I need it for. I may just get one of those compositor video transmitters, by all accounts the bandwidth should be fine and they are rated at 75 ohms.
  19. I like my posts.
  20. Hi, Basically I want this: http://audioengineusa.com/Store/Audioengine-D2 but without the dac. I want to send the output from my oppo wireless to any one of the DACS that may be across the other side of the room. Maybe radio shack has something, figured I'd ask if anyone used such a device.
  21. "Hand picked and inspired by the football great..." Lol. Football great implies he is great and that he actually plays football.
  22. The a2's came in and I have them installed with the stands. Watching some dark knight and the audio is a clear improvement. Plenty of movie bass and impact with plenty of volume. The oppo down mixing is excellent, great stereo surround effects and the imaging is nice with a straight placement no toe in. The improvement in clarity in dialog and overall is ridiculous, but the quality of my free panny soundbar with 10% thd that was on the ground was suspect Happy camper! Thanks guys. Edit: have no idea why my pics are being rotated, but they are attaching normally I swear.
  23. Ordered. Should land here Wednesday. Considering my current soundbar specs at 10% thd at minimum dialog should sound clearer Would love the A5's but location is limited to on the same tv shelf with TV and only have about 4" clearance.
  24. OK I've got the a2 and the little stands loaded up in my amazon cart, the one thing holding me back is volume output. I am about 11 ft viewing/listening distance, is there enough output from those tiny speakers? They are advertised as near field computer speakers so I fear they may end up sounding too small at my distance.
  25. Well I just measured how much clearance there is between the edge of the tv and the cabinet, and guess what, it's exactly 4 inches each side, meaning the a2 can sit right on the corner and it won't block any viewing area. The oppo can control volume and I can have it down mix to stereo, its audio processing is supposed to be excellent so I doubt I'll miss much of the supposed surround effect from my soundbar, which can go upstairs to the g25. Happy days.
