Just have to add that we are definitely enjoying our g25. The black levels are freaking insane. The THX mode renders the colors incredibly accurate and lifelike, and is still user adjustable if needed. I know when I bought the tv, the THX mode certification was somewhat part of the decision, but I didn't realize how well it would actually render the overall picture, it is near perfect regarding contrast, color, balance, and overall uniformity. I am a video newb so take with a grain of salt but for the price compared to some of the LEDs or pioneers I couldn't be happier. The vivid mode is freaking cartoonish and gave us a bit of a headache after the wow factor went away, and standard is a bit off in how the colors are portrayed, but the THX certification mode is the real deal.

G25 in the house, very excellent. Have it currently hooked up with component from my com cast box. It also has a DVI out, is it better to hook it up with a DVI to hdmi cable versus component?

Pc compatible? I thought it was just MAC

Is anyone having issues with iPad printing? My ipad doesnt recognize my wireless network printer. Edit: never mind, just saw my HP printer isn't one of the AirPrint compatible printers.

Nice review man. Should post it on HF so the reviewers can see how it should be done. Very clear and concise, I really got a nice idea of how it sounds sans not actually listening to the thing. Would love to check it out sometime, though I bet my ears are so used to the hp1000's it probably won't be my cup of tea.

Went ahead with the 50" g25. Came with one of those free sound bar HT 2.1 HT setups with a wireless sub. Hopefully will get it next week.

Yup the f1 is super picky. But when mated with the right speaker aka Lowther the results are amazing. Still pondering the f1j upgrade but damn NP is asking for $500 and several weeks (which I acknowledge is commensurate with the labor probably involved)

How are the black levels on your s2 postie? I know I shouldn't put too much credence into the instore best buy demos, but the s2 didn't look too hot, whereas the one g25 display they had looked significantly better. Of course the g25 appeared to be on an isolated setup, whereas the s2 was setup along a wall with doZens of other tvs.

Yup, just a nice implementation of your standard SET 2a3. As for specs, Craig would be the one, if he cares to divulge. Should be plenty fine for the LCD-2. I would recommend getting underneath the amp and changing the output taps to 16 ohms for a bit more power transfer, but doubt you would hear a sonic difference.

Anyone know whats up with the delayed 4.2update? Last I wad was they delayed it due to a bug causing the wifi to stop working.

Thanks postie. Currently going back and forth between the g25 and s2 series, 50 inch. Gut says to just go with the g25 with vier a cast, USB connection, lan connection and the better black contrast ratio

Anyone who has bought a plasma or any HDTV through amazon or other online retailer, would love to hear your thoughts on the process. The idea of amazon shipping something like a plasma tv to me seems frightening but would be comforting to hear that it may actually be a smooth safe and no hassle process.

Canjam was one of the most enjoyable and thoroughly fulfilling things I have ever done. To be a part of something that brought people together is truly special. It would be a very sad day if there were no more independent canjams, but I obviously understand it takes a few devoted/somewhat crazy individuals to step up and unfortunately we all have lives that may not permit us to step up. Reading your comments also kind of conveys that it is unlikely new leadership will arise from the current generation of huddler fi. Me sad.

Yup the G25 is what appears to be my #1 choice. Will also look at the S1/S2 series.

Postyand Jacob, is there a specific model # panny plasma I should be looking at? The g25 seems to be a good bet and are offered at really nice prices currently.

Wasn't really considering plasma, in fear of the whole image burn thing. I also didn't realize the price was pretty close to LCD if not cheaper in some cases.

Finally looking at our first HDTV purchase. Budget of around $1000 and looking at 46 -55 inch. More concerned with picture quality versus random add ons and extras. Sony Bravia 46ex500 seems to be a decent bet at 900. Feel free to throw anything else out there.
