  1. Aren't the NSA folks breaching some sort of NDA by disclosing that to you?
  2. Jack, I think you are at the perfect age and career juncture to pursue your MBA. But I would suggest only getting one from a top-flight program; otherwise, it may be more valuable to you to remain in the workforce and gain experience. Also, in terms of timing, I think being in a MBA program right now could be beneficial. Bad market and getting worse, but hopefully on the uptick by the time you graduate.
  3. Do we have choices of skins (or whatever the hell they're called) yet?
  4. I don't like the 701.
  5. Yes, I think so. Basically, I'm looking for a way to centralize and coordinate across platforms with my wife the info and tasks needed for closing on our apartment and the associated move and tasks, etc. Backpackit appeals to me because it appears to include central repository functionality for documents (purchase agreement, floorplans, etc.), as well as more robust project management.
  6. Ric, what made you switch from backpackit? It seems the free version lacks the functionality that make it good, was that it?
  7. I think I'm going with backpackit as it has a more robust feature set. It kills me that you have to pay for it though.
  8. I think the Signatures and the 007t are a pretty fucking good combination.
  9. spritzer, when you say "forward" which part of the range are you referring to, mids, highs? Thanks!
  10. deepak, can you explain what you mean by the above? Sounds convenient, but how do you do it?
  11. I don't see it on the thermaltake website... EDIT: duh, wasn't at the US site.
  12. I need an online to do list manager, primarily for coordinating a move, but doesn't need to be specific to that. I've looked into a bunch of the major ones, which seem ok, but I'd be curious to hear if folks have recommendations.
  13. I have abandoned Safarti for Firefox 3, and I was not a fan of Firefox 2. Firefox 3 is very good.
  14. I think "merely pretty good" is a good way to put it. It's a decent and resolving DAC, that also has some nice Swiss Army knife-like flexibility.
  15. An update: I sent in the amp for repair and opted out of the SA. The amp likely will be going up for sale upon its return anyway. Next time around, I will consider the stepper. I'd like 60 steps, though.
  16. I like the DAC1, but agree that it tends to the bright side. It makes a nice combo with a warmish/lush amp. The headphone out, however, is crap.
  17. Is there a quick way to view your own posts (not just subscriptions)? If not, can it be added?
  18. Looks like that got remedied pretty quickly.
  19. Got it, thanks guys. One more thing: the Lambdas seem generally pretty sturdy, especially given how well they continue to perform after a decade or two. Are there any particularly fragile parts to be wary of, and just how sensitive are they to dust, especially when one considers that the foam disintegrates within 5 years generally?
  20. Ok, so I unscrewed the earpads, but the pads themselves remain affixed to the plastic base. So it seems that you either rip off the earpads from the plastic base or just do the best you can without removing the pads?
  21. 1) The foam from the earpads. 2) I see the screws. So I don't have to take off the earpads to get to the foam right? 2a) When one buys replacement pads, do they screw in the same way?
