1. If this guy's in California, it's probably movie props. Unless they lifted the ban on 50 cals there.
2. Did someone get shot? I see red in that snow, or I need to get my monitor recalibrated. Time to dig out as well.
3. Ohhhh yeah: i've had the monitor replaced, the power inverter, top case, keyboard, and fans, and i'm pretty sure labor + parts was no joke. that AC paid for itself 10x over, literally
4. I've got a 2008 MBP and a 2009 Mac Pro. I use both on a regular basis, and my experience may not be parallel to yours Tyll, but I do use both everyday. The MBP seems durable and useful enough as I use it for notes and work everyday. I run VMWare with Vista for OneNote, other than CPU usage constantly maxed out, it's held up all these years. Mac Pro is great because of the processing power, amount of ram, and adding hard drives. Again I run OneNote for case briefing on XP, but the MP can handle it far better than the MBP with good reason. I usually stream via iTunes on my local network, but you could probably use Plex for streaming media (I just use a DVI to HDMI cable to my TV). My MBP takes a beating but with regular replacement/repair services by Apple, I'm happy with it.
5. It would be funny if this were the iPad 2 announcement. On second thought I take that back.
6. Other way around, EMC acquired vmware, along with RSA, documentum, and other products. I did like their presentation of vmware in action when I worked at GSG, but the whole "command center" layout was reminiscent of CNN's situation room.
7. It's a similar strategy to a company I used to work for, EMC. They wanted an all-in-one enterprise solution, much like Apple wants an all-in-one consumer solution. I suppose both are doing just fine in their profit margins along with their customer support. Fresh and innovative wasn't EMC's strong suit, their Symmetrix line is still alive and kicking. Apple's Mac Pro is and will continue to have a market share comparable to the Symmetrix, albeit different types of customers. I'm a few years out of the IT loop so my knowledge may be a little outdated.
8. arnaud, what's the prelim pricing on this guy? thanks for the info, i wish i could be there with you to listen to it! retract the first statement... noob move on my part not thoroughly reading and having thoughts of "moar moar..." on my part.
9. Yeah, I never take that out with me if I'm in Southie/Dorchester :/ Which is actually quite a bit cause of gf's internships. One of my friends saw it and thought it didn't fit me and proceeded to take it away without intent of returning. Next time I'm buying a samsonite attache briefcase
10. I'm playing with the Nav app now, and man I wish I found this before I bought a TomTom! I'm just gonna give that to my dad since he doesn't have a GPS Nav in his Yukon. I'm with Tyll, I listen to FM radio alot, now more so than the tunes on the iPhone. I wish I could install Android on my old TP2 so my sister could use that instead of WinMo.
11. I'm loving my LV GM Beaubourg and it's held up well considering the abuse I've put it through (rides on the T, in the rain and blizzard, probably ever food smell imaginable) but it's probably more looks than utility.
12. I just picked up a X a few days ago, I'm liking the FM radio but I've already cluttered the thing with apps. It's getting more playtime than the iPhone, I just hope it's more than a FOTM
13. unlike the giants ouch, looks like Coughlin might be a lame duck couch after all.
14. Thanks manaox, I got a pair of turbines for the gf. She's been wanting a pair of IEMs to go with her Studios. - TL
15. This has succeeded in getting me to try a subway breakfast sandwich, yum.
16. I almost got knocked out in my league with AP, but I have Johnny Knox as my backup (and I was down 5.3 pts). This week was all luck, but I think I should've gotten negative points since I had the Giants D starting.
17. +15.5 hrs later i made it home, avoided 4 cops, 2 tornado watches/warnings (in ohio/boston), flying trees and debris, and the like
18. reminds me of a bizzaro qualia, except with everything gone wrong in the styling department
