Ok, I see a jumper hole near C15. I guess I didn't read the big print right there Do you think that is likely my issue?

Do headphones exacerbate surface noises from vinyl?
My experience is that most of the LPs I get from the used record store, (and I look to make sure they are in good shape to begin with, outwardly) clean up very well, to the point were I don't mind playing them. There will still be minor clicks (can never get rid of those) but usually no loud pops after I'm done cleaning with the VPI 16.5

input voltage from big cap 46.8 volts (don't know if too high an input voltage can screw the circuit) across R2 .08v at regulator input 46.7v at output 30.7v at zener 9.45v R27 47k is in voltages at Q3, Q4 and Q5 are where it really gets fucked up.... stand by

Do headphones exacerbate surface noises from vinyl?
Having had a vinyl rig growing up, some clicks were always part of the "normal" experience... So getting back into it now, it has been less distracting then I thought it would be, but I could see how a CD baby might have a harder time adjusting. All that said, a good stylus (micro-line or micro-ridge or the like) gives you a quieter ride, and the cleaning machine helps tremendously.

Hagerman Bugle + DL-103 Revisited
My Denon DL160 came with an extra weight (plate) that you could mount between the headshell and cartridge. I think you can buy those as well. Just make sure you get truly non-magnetic ones.
