If you're using an external DAC (ie Berkeley) Amarra is modifying the audio before it goes to the DAC, so is the output still bit perfect?

The clipping is present in that album (Thirteenth Step), it's very poorly mastered.

Weren't most of those needle drops from MFSL vinyl? If they were they are fairly average sounding compared to other pressings. Along with Jacob (and others) I think the MirrorSpock needle drops sound better.
