    Stax. Calling it
  2. I think it was $17. 30 rack of PBR en route to you I will have to pretty up the front panel if it's going to sit in the big boys rack. Good thing I got the ARC imitation case I really like
  3. More recommendations, I was expecting two pages of posts from the opera lovers
  4. jb-sauce-mad-scientist after a long day of pondering I think I might go with the 100 stepper, just need to do more research. Because that's how I roll. Curse you RK27 POT. And thus the story of how a simple headphone amp becomes an integrated amp followed by its preamp transformation. I'll throw some Blackgates in this bitch if it becomes my permanent pre.
  5. I know, but specific works by conductors and good recordings
  6. Anything, anything good The more epic the merrier.

I need to think if I'll be using it as a preamp (and for how long), since I wouldn't need the remote volume control if it's just a headphone amp. It should be really good I just don't want it to bottleneck my system \

I'm contemplating having one installed in the B22.

I mean the device that actually controls the volume (inside the amp), from the display it looks like a 100 position stepper. And if it's a proprietary SinglePower controller. It's a great looking unit.
  10. Now why isn't that forum more popular
  11. They certainly look nice from Absorbine_Sr's pictures. I'd just be worried about what would happen if they broke, I don't know of many Chinese companies that have great built quality and customer service I understand Fang is a great guy but the Yuin stuff is much cheaper than a $1000+ product.
  12. Yeah I did, I will be playing them at my buddies' over winter break

edit: ah damn sorry about the hassle Tom, it was my Adblock filters in Firefox that was blocking the images, I can see them fine in Internet Explorer. Great looking setup. The remote for the preamp looks like the one that Jay linked in my Avantgarde thread: http://eshop.diyclub.biz/product_info.php?cPath=85&products_id=195 Do you know what sort of volume control it has?
  14. Don't forget fireworks

Tom, I'm not able to see the pictures, though when I look at your post I do see that you attached some images. Can you try the Head-Case gallery? http://www.head-case.org/index.php?action=gallery Otherwise just send me a message and I can host them in my H-C gallery space.

Pics man, pics!! (of the insides too)
  17. This thread sucks
  18. I'd definitely like to see how the beta is as a preamp. From what I've read an active preamp will work best with the SET power amps.
  19. That's freakin' tight (I'm sad I paid for the RK27 ), how reliable are they? Not going balanced with the amp because I don't want to recable my babies.
  20. The last thing I'm doing after busting my ass all day is getting up and walking 10 feet to change the volume
  21. deepak replied to Elephas's topic in Headphones
Read up on the Cary 300SEI My K1000 is using a stock cable. His 300B monoblocks and my K1000 was the best headphone system I've ever heard, recabling them never even crossed my mind.
  22. You have your priorities in the right place
  23. Sorry but they send you samples of the actual product? Anyone I should contact over there? Thanks for mentioning this
  24. I agree. Seagate has a 5 year warranty. Not sure if any of the others bumped up their warranties to match them.
  25. The B22 will be an integrated amp (with nice headphone amp ) When I get the blocks I'd like a pre with a remote control.
